Nevermore doesn't deserve to hold on for even one more week! It's probably the worst shirt that has ever graced shirt.woot.

(That should give it at least an extra week or two, right?)


On a side note: does when you buy a shirt have any effect on the shirt's place in the reckoning? For instance, if I were to buy a shirt on Sunday would it have more, less, or the same effect as if I had bought it earlier, say on Tuesday?

I don't get how Acquired Taste plummeted. Is it really not as good a shirt in the woot community's eyes compared to say a standard cliche like Caffine Power Up or A Wild Night? Also one would think that if it's the Chemistry geeks were keeping Caffine Power Up alive then are Physicists too narly (yes I did just drop that word in there) and smart for our simple cat? I am neither a Chemist nor a Physicist but I'd rather have a dead cat on my t-shirt than a bunch of molecules (offense not meant just stating as my preference). I mean seriously, who wears a dead cat on them?

Probably the same but for example if a certain shirt sold 1/4 of it's quantity say on Friday then you'd probably see it high in chart until Friday rolls around when the sales from the Friday from 4 weeks past is no longer relevant in the shirt's standing.

Is it really possible that next week, there will be no patrickspens shirts available? When's the last time that happened?!

Wow Zombies are in the hole right now, that is a bad DSR. It is the type of shirt that is likely to get people trying to save it though. I'm thinking of finally taking the plunge myself.

My earliest attempt at the ranking mistakenly presumed that too. It's NOT a rolling 4 week schedule, but rather, the 4 weeks is total. For this week, the basis is from December 19; it's day 22 now ("real time" DSR), and 28 days will elapse ("Woot based" DSR) when this period closes.

Assuming that Using Your Melon completes a moderate rise into at least the low teens:

Aquired Taste will have to gain 30 sales on Schrodinger's Equation, to survive another week (note, that's not "sell 30 shirts" it's "sell 30 shirts more than").

Nevermore's DSR is very close to other shirts right around it. It will need to gain 30 shirts on He'll probably Be Okay, and Kitchen Warfare to avoid being in a fight that will go down to the wire.

Neither of those will be easy. If I can't afford 2 shirts next Monday, I may have to make a hard decision.

Okay so I get it, it throws out 4 weeks back and pretty much now makes this week's sale become that 4th week in which the sales are referenced/ranked. NOW I totally get the real-time vs woot based DSR which I never understood when I lurked on your wonderful rankings. This probably would most accurately explain why Ugly Holiday Sweater 2011 finished 12th but then immediately plummeted to 23rd after midnight struck and the shirts were reckoned last Monday. I have been enlightened. Thank you young grasshopper.

In this dilemma, I would allow the cat to go. It's not going to hang around to reach any milestone. Although irony would seem to dictate that, if reckoned, the cat might pop back above the cut.

I haven't chimed in on this in a while and it'll probably hex it... but I think it's pretty awesome that nevermore is currently sitting at #18.

I just check the reck to see whether the unstealthiest ninja has survived. I'm waiting for husband to take a hint and get it for me...

Just a thought.... I'm wondering if Woot would consider keeping The Binge and Nevermore available for sale from the Hamper Hall of Fame and not the Reckoning. Woot could set up whatever criteria they'd like for future members of the HHF (like 150 weeks or 40,000 sales or whatever) and move deserving shirts there. This way the shirts that reach the HHF, like Binge and Nevermore, are always available for sale, thus making Woot more money, but freeing up spots in the Reckoning for newer designs to attempt to reach HHF status.

Melon doesn't look like it'll go to seed this week. 16-18, 20-22 - including Nevermore - look to be fighting it out for the last few safe spots. Cat's spent the last few days close to being in a superposition of states - is the Cat dead or alive?

I think I'm in for 2 Acquired Taste shirts this week. I love that shirt.

I've been wanting to buy Aquired Taste and just haven't done it yet, looks like this week could be my last chance. Is there a certain day that would be best to buy it to possibly help save it?

After reading all the comments about saving designs I was hoping there would be some greenpeace fan tying themselves to my tree design before it gets cut down.

How about: Let it run it's course as normal (it's fun to see how long a shirt can survive), but once a shirt hits 104 weeks or 20,000 (arbitary) AND falls off the reckoning, it goes to the HoF, and comes back for Woot-Offs and special sales.

At one point I had been arguing for that... just to get it out of the reckoning. But that was at a time when there were a ton of bloated shirts clogging up all movement in the reckoning list.

However, since they never listened to me... in addition to the fact I don't like the shirt, poem, or Edgar Allen Poe... I fully intend to celebrate it's reckoning and subsequent unexistance.

And I guess deliver on my signature's promise of releasing EAP from being headlocked.
