Yes! I do like a good yellow shirt. Too many prints on dark shirts all the time, don't they know people have kids, or pets?

My previous indicated links did not work, after reading all these posts, I can see that woot has control on when shirts are sold. Come on woot, get your act together and provide a way to order past shirts. A message from the moderator indicated that woot owns the design for a specified period. Well then if you own the design make it available for sale to benefit both woot and the submitter.

This one almost needs the title as a caption on the shirt. It's funny and helps tell the story. If it doesn't print now, maybe they should print it later with the caption.

Is it my imagination, or does the octopus have a bit of screen glow on his face, especially in his eyes? Very cool hint of detail there.

It's so sad that derbies have become dominated by tween girls who only vote for designs with "kitties" and "bunnies" in them and awesome designs like this get consistently overlooked.

About the white - yeah, it would lighten up the feel of the comp. On the other hand, if there was a way to make the whale lighter, (after all he was a white whale, wasn't he? or am I mixing things up) it would give a real nice up-front impression of the quote. Maybe use a very dark gray for the whale with light gray highlights? So the overall impression of the whale is still dark in comparison to itself, but it has more of the feel of being a light-colored whale underneath? Did that even make sense? I'm not saying you need to change it for the derby, just some stuff to think about, maybe play around with on your own

You're right- Moby D*ck was totally white. And in my experience, if it takes someone longer than like 3 seconds to "get" the shirt, it doesn't succeed. Adding white would strengthen it conceptually.

As far as the captains hat- If your thinking of tricornes- they had fallen out of style by the time Ahab would have been whaling. Plus, I wanted something that would read very small and only in profile.
