I'll have to agree with this statement. As much as I love my Woot shirts, I'm sad to say they all seem to fall to pieces after just a couple of wears.

Really? It's the way the world works. Unfortunately the price went up. But hey, it's still a better deal than most shirts you'll get elsewhere. Woot isn't getting greedy; it's a natural part of running a business!

Some people say "everything costs more now" or "that's the way things work"...

Well, that complacent attitude is exactly the reason why retailers have gotten away with one obscene price increase after another.

Shareholders demand increasing profits, so the regular goal becomes to squeeze higher and higher profit margins out of the consumer. And that is true for each node along the ever-growing supply chains. Every middle man wants their cut and each gets greedier with time. And as long as the consumer continues to just go along with "oh well, everything is costing more..." they will continue to get away with more and more brazen increases.

Some say $2 is not much? Well, that is a 20% increase. An increase by 1/5th.
I doubt most people's paychecks have increased by 20% over the same time period.
But somewhere along the supply chain some fat sows are getting fatter.

May sound obvious, but I've been astounded by the number of people I've lived with, who never did this and then wondered why their clothes always take so long to dry, or were covered in lint.
I've never had this problem with washing/drying any of my clothes, anywhere.

Or find a laundromat that maintains their equipment (or perhaps learn the schedule so you can go after cleaning instead of right before).

Congratulations to a new first time artist printing on Woot! You captured the depth of water better than any design in the derby. Nice job werewolfskippy, I'll be watching for your future entries.

$12??? When did woot! up the price of shirts?

Twelve's too much, especially for this shirt. Definitely makes you think twice about buying a shirt.

I really do like this shirt and would probably buy it. However, just like everyone else... Money is tight. I can't justify spending the extra 2 bucks. It's a pass for me. Seeing as how I can get cheesy shirts at Wal-Mart or Target at less than $10, I'm really going to have to love a shirt to even consider the purchase. I'm sad about the price change, and it will make me think before pulling the trigger. But, it isn't the end of the world

On the bright side, the random shirt woots should change from that ugly 6.66 number to 7.92. That makes me happy!

It looks a lot like a ramyb shirt... that's a compliment, I guess.

Oh, and $12 is too much for a T-Shirt unless it's XXL or larger, Woot.

My one black woot shirt also comes out of the drier with lint all over it...and no, I'm not stupid, I clean the lint screen every time I use the drier.

Here's the notice about the price inflation...again.

Obviously "you" can't read, the poster is not speculating. The poster was clearly caught off guard having not seen the price adjustment announcement. Nor did I see the announcement. I don't look at every shirt.woot! page, I go to the main page and look over the other woot! offerings. If I don't see a shirt that I'm interested in, I go on about my business, never seeing the price.

Why are the other shirts still 15 bucks?

Cutting the price delta from 5 bucks down two 3 bucks, tells me that I really DONT need to check shirt.woot everyday. Because if there is a really awesome shirt I will be just as likely to buy it at 15 as I am at 12. Sounds ok, but do you really want to train me that I dont need to check your site every day? Seems to fly in the face of the whole concept. Oh and 12 bucks is no longer an impulse buy. Perhaps in 2-3 years.

Yeah, I have a little more common sense than you give me credit for. I clean it everytime I do laundry. It's not the equipment or the lint catch. It's the shirt. It doesn't matter where I wash/dry it or with what equipment or if the lint catch is clean as a whistle. If I could post a photo right now I would.

Let's see: my black shirts always come out of the dyers at the 'mat --- black with no lint.

I've washed many of my Woots 10's of times [cold wash, vegetable-based detergent, cool dry] and they still look ----good as new.

Thank you, Woot, for not raising the price for all these many years. Your restraint in waiting until now is admirable----and you use US-made blanks and print in the US.

As a purchaser of both "CUTE" and "ARTY" tees, it's nice to see that so many arty tees have placed recently----but disappointing that the old arty tee ranters seem to have all left the building. I miss those two page posts about how Woot has gone down the toidy by catering to the cute tee people.

Congrats on the first Woot print to the artist - I'll wear it during one of my lessons on the oceans - in for 1

It really pains me to have to be "that guy", but in the artist description it should be "lightning", not "lightening". That's the first typo or grammatical error I've ever seen on Woot though, so good job.

I, for one, LOVE this general style of shirt. Unfortunately, more than half my Tshirt drawer looks just like this as a result....dark colored background, pretty scenic design....

On the other hand, the one baby blue woot T I've ever bought gets pulled out rarely because it shows dirt so much. The dark ones get washed every laundry cycle.

(and no, I don't have any lint problems with them. Warm/cool wash, clear detergent, vinegar the rinse cycle, and hang to dry.)

I really like shirts like these. I don't want every shirt I own to be funny.

Also, while I understand the disappointment related to the higher prices, I have difficulty understanding why the small price increase is enough to prevent purchases. It's only $2--if that's enough to break the bank, then buying a shirt was never a good idea. If your family could end up suffering because of this price increase, then you are probably not being that responsible with your cash, and should probably not buy any shirts even at $10.

Pretty much my sentiment as well. If you oppose the price change on anything other than principle alone, it's probably best you not be buying luxury items like woot products.

I am a college student and a 2 dollar increase with sales tax can add up to a lot. I buy many shirts just on a whim and this will deter me from buying a silly shirt I will wear once. It would have been nice to notify us. That's my 2 cents. not trying to quibble over 2 chicken sandwiches

Why is woot talking about inflation? Didn't they get the memo? The Fed says there is NO INFLATION since the price of an iPad 2 (with twice the power) is the same as an iPad 1. Maybe this "inflation" thing is just a hoax for woot to raise prices on unsuspecting, uneducated, customers. But we know better woot... you'll have to come up with a better reason for a 20% price increase. Call it what you want, "$2," "8 quarters," "a clearance 2 gig flash drive," "3/5 gallon of milk," it still amounts to a 20% increase!

Cool design!
The shirt title and writeup reminded me of what happens when dams are built and valleys are flooded.
They have these huge robots that cut submerged trees so they can float to the surface. Really neat stuff.
