Well, I usually order 3 shirts and now that I live in TX it's an extra 6 bucks plus tax.. I agree that they should of
1) sent an email to shirt.woot buyers
2) a small increase over time
But what is done is done, and we have no say so in the matter (thanks Amazon!).

So sorry to the artist that I can't buy my normal 3. But I do LOVE the design!

The 2$ price increase is understandable and 12$ is still a bargain in my opinion, however as an international customer, this makes the new price 17$ (with shipping) and therefore nudges it out of the impulse buy range for me.

It's the end of the Woot as we know it.

Love this shirt!!! Just ordered three. It is perfect for anyone who has dived in Monterey or even been to the aquarium.

Ok so today being a Friday, if I pay for overnight will I get it tomorrow or Monday? I ask because my shipping address is at work and we are not open on Saturdays.

This shirt is beautiful and I am gonna pay the extra $5 so that I can wear it to an upcoming coral frag swap and expo. Cant wait.

Please people, you're complaining about $2, seriously?

I'm in for one and could give a crap about the increase. It's a beautiful shirt that I will wear more than once, and I know a bunch of other people buying it also. I hope it sells really well because it's bull**** that the better designed shirts don't sell as well as the crappy cute ones.

beautiful design. the only shirt so far this month that I didn't think twice about how it would wear.

now that I'm thinking twice, I'm afraid it might become one of those shirts, like what you'd buy at your local aquarium or museum. People buy those, but never wear them.

Hmmm...if it's still here at the end of the day, maybe I'll jump or just hope I get it in my 3 Randoms next time!

Exactly. there has been an astronomical increase in something that is a necessity, that increases the underlying costs for all businesses. And this company has eaten those cost up to now (when the cost of cotton is around double). Considering the profit margins of the 2 industries I think you* are yelling at the wrong middleman.

BTW what do you wash your shirts with? You may want to experiment with how you separate your loads, especially if they get washed with sweaters or towels, as those are high lint causers.
But I am one that raises an eyebrow at such complaints, since I haven't run into them with my shirts, I don't even treat special.

The shirt designer should seriously look into selling these at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

I always wash mine in COLD water - and separate from anything else.. I've never had a problem with the quality of any of them (even that are 2-3 years old)..

The price increase doesn't really bother me, but the logic of your statement does.

$10 = Impulse buy / $12 = Non-Impulse Buy. So a $2 increase is a big deal to you.

However, you'll be "just as likely to buy it at 15 as I am at 12". So a $3 increase isn't a big deal.

+$2 = Big Deal
+$3 = No Big Deal

Everything has been said about the artistry here. It really does feel like a painting but will undoubtedly look great on cotton.

Since the conversation is looking to be as much about the new $12.00 price, here's what I really think!

If shirts in the Reckoning remain at $15.00, then that does mean I don't really care if I get a shirt on the first day or not. And that's probably even better for Woot.

What I remember from Economics:

The $2 from 10 to 12 is not equal to $2 extra from 13 to 15 or 15 to 17. As price increases, the buyer becomes less sensitive (inelastic) to more price increases.

Anyway... I can honestly say that I would have bought this shirt at $10. I'm trying to convince myself to buy it right now for $12.

This was one of my favorite designs yet, I bought one. I might have also bought one for a friend but the extra two bucks definitely affected that. I'll still buy a shirt I really want for $12, heck, if I have to have it, I'd pay $20. The price increase will just make me weigh my purchase, rather than buy as impulsively.

I'll speak for myself, but I get the emails at 12:30 in the morning- the emails being the daily digest. I see the design- if I like it, I'll get it. I haven't seen any I really enjoy since the increase went into effect, so I didn't check the actual shirt.woot page. Therefore, I missed it, and I was caught off guard when I went to purchase.

I'm not saying you do, but please don't assume that everyone checks the actual page. It's easy to miss blogs, especially when you're only checking the design.

I refrain from buying a lot of shirts @ Teefury cuz of the extra $2, guess I'll be doing it here now too.

I'm just sad that I missed it. What an awesome design. o_o

Just received this... and the color / finish is WAY off... the light blue that is shown is more teal/green and the darker blue is grey. The air bubbles is more like someone splattered white paint with black shadows & the whole thing has black cross-hatching. VERY disappointing.

Considering the price increase, maybe it was a blessing.. only bought 1, instead of my normal 3..

I got one just like this as well, but I kind of like the way it looks so I plan on keeping it.
