lol this is pretty funny. I think I may have to get this one.

Not normally a fan of cute penguin shirts.
This one however, combines penguins with killer whales. The killer part makes it ok.

They just look so calm. It's compelling.

YEEEEES! I was hoping this shirt would place! This was definitely one of my favorites from this derby So cute and clever. I wish penguins in the real world actually did this when they spotted orcas hahaha.

When I see this design, I can't help but be reminded of Micheal Crichton's novel, Prey.

Am I missing something? Why $12 instead of $10?

Killer whales weigh on average approximately 9 tons. The average penguin weighs approximately 66 pounds. Therefore, it would take just over 270 penguins (roughly 273) for a mass of penguins to be roughly the same mass as one killer whale.

As for volume, I'm not sure, since I don't know if penguins and killer whales are of similar densities.

EDIT -- 66 lbs is the average weight for emperor penguins (the bigguns). Some get up to be almost 100 pounds! That's a lot of penguin!

Hehehe....love it. I went to Antarctica a few years ago- and saw thousands of penguins- and now desperately wish I'd seen this formation!

Two statements:
#1. I will continue buying woot.shirts even if they do increase by a paltry $2, which is a pathetically small sum when compared with the multitude of things you spend money on in a day, I'm sure. Inflation happens, everywhere. Other sites will raise prices as well. Get over your sense of entitlement.

#2. Smooth move there, shirt.woot. The others didn't see it, but I did. Far Side shoutout in the title. I'm proud of you.

Most woot shirts fall pretty flat. This, however, is pure genius.

I do like this design a lot, even though it definitely took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at on my phone's screen. Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

Maybe people telling others to "get over their sense of entitlement" because they don't want to pay an extra 2 dollars on an already unnecessary splurge should also "get over" their privilege and realize that not everyone values $2 in the same way.

You either are going to pay extra or you won't, no need to trivialize other people's concerns unless you're their accountant.

From the thumbnail I thought this was a really muscular whale, and now I can't make that thought go away.

I totally couldn't figure this shirt out until I read the thread. I totally didn't see the penguins.

Love the shirt. But don't see how the 20% price hike is anything but gouging, which, I guess was inevitable once woot became corporate. In this economy where a lot of people are getting their pay cut, I just don't see a 20% price increase as anything but a betrayal. No more woot for me.
