Re: Rose Cat v2
gah! i NEED this shirt for my sister. she loves peacocks. i showed it to her today and had to explain that i couldn't buy it right now because i don't know if it's going to be printed (she didn't know what it meant that the design was in the derby).
let's vote on this one some more, everybody! i'd be in for 2 if we could push it into the top three!
paigeg wrote:SO glad you made that change. This is doing well, congrats!
thanks! Pretty happy with this one this week.
Re: Daydreaming in Watercolor (Resub)
Had to resub. Noticed some issues with the halftone dots that made it not printable. If you voted for the previous version please vote again!
"Are you my mummy?"
Sorry, couldn't resist. =P
Re: Understanding Wildlife
This is a take on a lot of illustrations of nature done by naturalists. Their observations have brought us valuable insight into the different ecosystems that would have been unreachable areas at the time.
Watercoloring was a bit difficult for me since I'm more comfortable with producing straight lines and solid colors
ladybearslayer wrote:I really like this! There's something appealing about the architecture and the way the design blends into the shirt color.
I hope not; the title may be a reference but the design is more universal. Reminded me of Thoreau's "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."
I don't want it to get rejected either. I really like this design! But I think maybe it will be safer with a different title, because the name of the shirt is the direct name of that song - it's a reference.
Re: Tree Frog Wonders
make it bigger & add a tropical tree.
His long journey nearing its end, he approaches the cathedral.
Re: Wild Mushroom Clouds
My first thought was that they were dragon blood trees.
Re: Samurai Resurrection
Looks great! Love the colors, like rainbow vomit, I mean that in the best possible way too (traditionally vomit is not appealing but in this case it looks amazing).
Re: Broken Down
The colors and handling of this image are so delightfully delicate. I agree with Samshirt it has an appealing Miyazaki element to it too. I need to learn how to be a bit more subdued with my color palette like you
reminds me of a leafy seadragon, which I love!!!
Re: Year of the Dragon
Hurray for the Dragons! Are you, like me, born in the year of the dragon? It's awesome to be the only mythological beast on the zodiac. Maybe you could carry this design on into a series with the rest of the zodiac creatures? Could become quite popular
Re: Who goes there
Hah! I love the way you rendered this owl!
Re: My Fire Engine
Wow! I love it!!! Although I would say it could go without the skull... or at least make the cross a dark gray instead of black... it looks a little out of place.
Re: Castle on a Cloud
Absolutely astounding! Seems we did similar themes but I like yours a lot more. Did you make it in Illustrator or Photoshop? I want to learn how to get crazy gradients like that
Aaaaawe! You guys made me ink!!! LOL love it :D
This is cute. I like the design. Not a Huge fan of it on this shirt color. Not that its your fault but I am really tired of every cat shirt winning. Yes I do realize that people want them and do buy them. Just my opinion
I really hope this gets printed. Nothing is bad about this deisgn. Great work!
Re: Elements of Life
Where is the 5th Element?
Re: Bird Lover
I would buy this one in a split second...LOVE IT !!!
Re: Panda Watercolor
This is adorable without being cutesy. Great eyes too. GMV.
Re: Portrait of Night-time
Beautiful! I do wish the profile of the face was a bit softer and more subtle, though...
Re: The Carousel
I'll be so upset if this shirt doesn't get printed. It's the only one this derby that I like, and I really like it a lot! Vote, people, vote!!!
Re: A Game of Cat and Mouse
hey three colors on creme shirt. pretty cool. learned a little about halftones. might try another before wednesday.
Re: Chicken Boo Fight V2
I hope so! It's a little hard to tell; the latest Woot template I have isn't very clearly marked. Voted, though.
You will have to correct and resubmit. The thumbnail not matching the comp is grounds for rejection. Great shirt, please do resubmit!
Cool, i like those clouds, remind me of this game Animal Kingdom
la belle dame sans souris ;)
i LOVE this! please please print pretty please...

Thanks for the comments guys, glad you like it. Yea there is definitely a bit of a Myazaki influence, I'm a fan of his work
I want this shirt so bad!! Please get up there!
zwartepaard wrote:Beautiful! I do wish the profile of the face was a bit softer and more subtle, though...
Hmm.. thanks for the feedback, zwartepaard :-> I was going for contrast with the softness of the watercolor.. but perhaps it was too much?
Very nice, ramy, beautifully executed. Not a shirt I could pull off, but I tip my hat to you.
Re: Tree of Eternity
I think this derby was custom made for you. Beautiful design!
it's a lovely and so gracious work
