Nice work as always Walmazan. That usual fun and whimsy mixed with touches of artistry.

Got my vote as usual.

Re: Playing Koi

Another one who would be in for this if only it were on another color than white. The light blue would have been perfect. Just can't deal with white tees - they make me look like a corpse.

I think I'd prefer no skier- after all, an avalanche of that proportion would be pretty terrifying, or more distant, anonymous appearing skiers. You wouldn't ski alone in avalanche season. Overall, I don't think I want an identifiable *person* on my clothes.

I went back and forth about adding the skier in the foreground. I do agree with you though, I should have left him back at the chalet. Also, he isn't skiing alone. His ski buddy isn't quite as lucky looks like he's in trouble.

  • We'll kiss the first of a million kisses and let the past fall away.

That "crappy little badge" is quite the honor. I thank you! This sign of artistic acknowledgement is very appreciated and exactly what I needed right now. The comment on the website is also extremely welcome. My shirt may not get printed but it's awesome it won something Thanks again!

Well awesome job. I've been meaning to throw my hat into the ring, but the last couple of derbies have left me without a good idea, or like this one, beyond my level.

I'd say there's a solid chance this will get an Honorable Mention, and be eligible for the next double take Derby. So, there is still a shot...though unlikely for this week.

If not, and you take it elsewhere in 60 days, let me know. I'll do my best to get support for it.

That would be cool if it got picked for a double take, and yep, if it doesn't I will try it on another site. I'll have to look around, all the sites I used to get printed on have died off.

omarfeliciano wrote:Officeink, I understand your concern, but my design is not based on any cartoon or movie, not The Last Airbender, not Captain Planet, not The Fifth Element. My design is about the Classical Elements viewed through greek philosophers eyes, nothing more. You wouldn't say that a design based on "magic potions" is pop-culture just because Harry Potter uses spells and charms, would you?

I did my research before and after submitting my design, and the symbols you talk about are very different from what I portrayed here. We can agree that the Air symbol is similar, but that is not an uncommon representation of that element. The same thing would happen if ten people are asked to represent a "rainbow", their takes would be very similar... Apart from that nothing else is even close to the cartoon.

Sorry if I sound defensive, but I just want everything to be clear. Hope I still count with your support! And thanks for commenting!

It's cool dude...Just looks like an interpretation of The Last Airbender to me... It'd be cool with the lil bald kid with the arrow on his head doing some mid air move in the middle of it...lol
