i think it's great how Woot tries to inspire the artists with this theme, but i was hoping for more Schiele-ish expressionism - and i don't like white shirts.

I think if you paint and keep your colors more consistent and less splatty and drippy, then I think it is watercolor. I think a lot of times we're not so much mimicking watercolor or natural paint, we're mimicking the digital mimic of those things by going overly messy. Like when movies go for extra shaky-cam to simulate it being "real". But I respect your critique. I didn't use any fancy brushes for one and I'm usually rather clean, even with a messy medium. The one custom brush I made from scratch got smudged out a lot because if I was painting this, I would most likely try to make it look this way.

Based on Eats, Shoots, and Leaves, (a shirt I happily own, by the way) I knew you would do something cool with this derby theme.

Actually, the original version of the design had more of an aquatic look to it, but I went for something more subtle in the end. I may go back and revisit the original vision I had and resub later if I have some time Glad you like this version for now though.

I saw this and remembered the threadless entry- but in a very good way. When I saw that one for the first time I have severe twitchy purchase fingers. I'm glad it's back in another form, but I do miss the colors and the swirling.

By the way, this style is amazing and she's beautiful.

It seems almost like an accident, like someone spilled some watercolor and it morphed into this form of a tree. As if every part of the design was a beautiful perfect mistake.

I rambled romanticism, but basically this took my breath away.
