Line halftones especially, when properly placed, can really play tricks on your eyes and create great shading effects without getting excessively small.
I just also want to say thanks for posting this! I used to work a bit with photoshop a long time ago, but never knew about halftones. You do some really great work, so it's nice to get an idea of how the pros do it!
