Seems kind of obvious to me, I think it's a commentary on the typical memes of tee-shirt design vs. a masterpiece of Renaissance art.

That was the initial composition. Maybe I'll submit another variation.

I like it better than any others that are selling. However it makes my heart hurt for missing the chance to buy Minor Modifications.

Dear Firefrogh,

I love everything about this shirt. I love the monsters. I love the teddy bear. I love the colors. I love the Sesame Street nostalgia. I love your cartoony style. Will you marry me?

No worries, it's the grey of the shirt.

mindsuckr wrote:Is the grey of the penguin/lion shading the same grey as the shirt? I can't tell if it's the same or it's a seventh color. I hope it's not an extra color

There seems to be more than 6 colors to me, I count at least 7? Maybe I'm missing some halftones that are making different shades

yes, I used this as an opportunity to learn halftoning. Here's the detail. I think I ended up only using 5 colors; white, black, red, yellow, green.

And it's apparently Ash Wednesday for poor Mona, there.

That would be my guess as well, to be honest. I hope to see more of your work in the future, though!

I think it's pretty nifty! I do think it would make a cute kids' shirt, but I'd probably wear it myself, too!

Very clever. I kinda want it with-out the pipe (off center), however I know it wouldn't fit the theme this week.

Re: Peas in a pod...

Personally I think it would've been better with less detailed shading, and if the pea on the left had a different expression. When I saw the thumbnail on my phone I was thinking how many times can I say buy, but seeing these details ruined it for me.. good job but it simply irk'd me. (Totally a word)

Yup.

This is pretty good, if it wins I'll get it for my roomie and see how many times she wears it before she notices the bird is farting.

I really like this. I check out the derby weekly but rarely vote. I'm definitely voting for this, it's such a nice change of pace from all the same old cutesy crap we see every week.
