This was actually explained in a recent Aquaman issue. There were plenty of raised eyebrows when Mr. Curry ordered fish off the menu in a diner, but he pointed out quite succinctly that while he can communicate telepathically with fish, it's not like they're self-aware or have anything interesting to say ...

... Ramy! Wow! I tend to be more critical than admiring of most of your derby entries, especially the "cute" designs... but this is great! It's cute, but in a polished way that doesn't look like you just slapped it together. The concept is original and tells a (very concise) story without trying too hard. GMV!

As for whether or not he can talk to or cares about the general welfare of fish in general, I like to think of him in the olden times when he was animated quickly and cheaply in Mexico. When he and his friends lived in a big hall of justice in an undisclosed city. And big circles would come out of his head as he rode an enormous seahorse! That guy would never eat a fish.

Nice! I like the colors you chose - the muted brown and tan combo is an unusual background for such a brightly colored character, but it works really well here. I just hope this doesn't get rejected for copyright reasons... it's happened before with less obvious references to Sesame Street characters. (See: the first half dozen versions of the Binge, or however many there were before tjost got one by the Rejectionator.)

Seriously, though, yes, people still like them. I particularly like this one... the composition is great! Really captures that "squeeze-into-the-frame" feeling that's familiar to anyone with a large family.

I also thought it was hot sauce, based on the thumbnail, but I think the joke works just as well (maybe better) with ketchup. The design is great too... somehow you've made those floating anthropomorphic food items look very dynamic! +1

Aww, I absolutely ADORE this design!!! ♥ Love unicorns, love donkeys. I'm also really liking these colors. And the donkey's expression is priceless. Dopey and proud, haha. And the unicorn's reaction is great too. Basically a total win! ♥ GMV, good luck!

On a side note, this reminds me of the quote from House, MD "My unicorn isn't a unicorn. It's a donkey with a plunger stuck to it's face." Except it's a cone - on his head... :D
