Well, I was a May baby. So it's likely I was conceived in 1976... =D

If it was going to be rejected, I figure it would have been by now. I think you're safe.

kevlar51 wrote:I hope it's OK based on the green alone, which is emulating the screen. But even so, it's not really a slogan, which is what they try to avoid with the text rules.

We'll see though.

I can see all the little Woot gremlins furiously researching if they can get away with this.

tweaked and resubbed.

Inspired by the discovery in 1974 of "Lucy," a 3.2 million-year-old female hominid of the species Australopithecus afarensis, was discovered by scientists in Ethiopia's Afar Depression.

I really like this entry--I voted for it!--but, err... well, from a distance, at a quick glance... it looks like they're humping. I know, I know, I'm sure it's just my juvenile mind being all juvenile and mind-y, but, well... still. (But I do like it and would happily buy it, visual trickery of doggy-sexing notwithstanding.)

Re: 1968: Food Was Cheap

I need this shirt! I remember getting one of those floppy record things in my happy meal as a kid - if the people on your record could correctly sing the jingle, you'd win a prize. Mine couldn't, but now I can sing it in my sleep! Pretty sure I'd buy one for me and one for each of my (3) kids if it prints!!

This is beautiful! I only wish that the design itself wasn't enclosed by such a harsh vignette. Is there any way to tone it down (considerably) or somehow alter the design without the vignette altogether?

Re: 1977: Modal Punk

From Wookiepedia:
"Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes were an all-Bith music band, specializing in the fields of Jizz and Jatz."

[snickers like a 12 year old boy]

All the same, the shortening of the band name bugs my obsessive geek side.
