BEST SHIRT EVER! You should really go into business making your own shirts. I hear silk screening is pretty easy to do

This was a gorgeous design. I voted for it and was really pulling for it to win. So disappointed to see it rejected.

Re: Pirate Games

Well, I haven't submitted since "Cats, The T-Shirt," but I have been working furiously (not actually working angry, but rather, working hard) in the background.

J5 told me about GIMP, so I don't have to import from my free drawing program for the HP Touchpad into Open Office Impress into Microsoft Paint, back into, well, you get the picture.

The idea here is that pirates don't play nice games.

Aha! Figured that out on your own, did you?

-------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: To clarify, I submitted to "Cats, Cats, Cats;" common sense now suggests that bastardizing the Derby theme could lead to confusion about which Derby and/or which entry. I belatedly realized that there was, in fact, a "Cats, the Musical," and I do not wish to step on anyone"s toes.

My thought process had originally dredged up a series of redux names that White Wolf had after "Magic: The Gathering," such as "Pimp, the Backhanding."My household tends to oversimplify things sometimes, and I get used to shorthand speech.

My four shirt entries in my first ever Woot! Derby, and my first ever illustration submissions went to Cats! Cats! Cats!; they were Feline Ouroboros, F. Ouroboros Pop Art, Three to Tee, and Cheshire Dressing Room.

Sorry for any potential confusion.

Offensive how? Ireland is known for potatoes, it's a fact.

I love that it looks like the little guy has two peg legs. It frustrates me your other design was rejected. Thankfully this shot to the fog as well. I'll be racing to be "first sucker" when this prints.

Re: Redbeard's Institute of Piratry, Est. 1512

I like the design, but not the colors. I think the white is too hot for the other colors, and the brown doesn't work on the gray shirt. I'd say bring the white text down, and match the color to the shirt - I like gray so I'd say bring the graphic down into the gray hues, but you should probably just choose a better shirt color.

Not hating at all, but my friends and I were looking over the derby and saw the rule "No text only designs."
This looks text only to us, but if someone explain and curb our curiosity, that would be amazing :D

Re: Pirate Hooks of the World

There's nothing about this design that's not exactly as it should be. From the font to the framing, to the background and the woodcut style of the various hooks - it just screams 'win' to me. Excellent work!

Re: gARRRRamond

I like your use of text to create the Jolly Roger saying, "R."

I have to admit it took me a beat or two to really get it. I had to step back from What do the letters say? into the question, "What does the graphic present?"

Nice graphic! Fabulous integration of the shape of the letter into the design of a familiar object.

Reminiscent (in a non-copying or duplicative fashion) of TAter and Ignorant's team Pi-Rat. You've done on a grand scale what they accomplished with their rat's ear and right claw, in my opinion. In a word, Brilliant (yours and theirs).

Thanks. Would have been nice if they'd done it 4 days ago, as I might have had time yesterday to put together a resub. And if any Shirt.Woot mods are reading, a clarification on the clip-art policy might be nice since there are designs with it that win quite frequently...
