Happy Birthday Turken!

klozit - if Fen can't help you, you can PM me as well. I can at least talk you through taking the hard drive out, which is where all your info is.

Had a little unexpected adventure today. Just after I got home from the school from my lunch shift, I got a call from the office. Ver1 had a plastic object stuck on her finger. 2 doctors and 2 nurses took about 30 mins to get it off. Ver1 is fine and actually handled the whole thing really well. Apparently, the object had been in her desk and got stuck on her finger while she was looking for a piece of paper.

That happened to me a few years ago. Had to saw off the darn thing.

I thought we were going to have to saw it off, they did prep the cast saw, but the doctors and nurses were able to use lubricant and nylon string to eventually get enough blood past the knuckle to pull it off.

Happy to share pics. Was a really nice day, great weather. Very few people on the trail, so that was nice too.

A friend has pointed out that I'm very close to a ghost town, so might head that way this weekend.

I enjoyed the pictures as well. I can't wait to take the kids hiking this summer.

We did a walk around the neighborhood over the weekend. The oldest was ok, but the youngest was tired and didn't want to go any further...and we just barely made it a half mile.

HELLO! I slept great and feel great!

Going to catch up.

Happy Birthday Turken!

Glad things went well with the finger, KtC. I think the only similar adventure we had with son was a bead or something up the nose.

Nice pics, Mav! The uprooted stump reminds me of one I had from my grandfather. He used to pull up the stumps of cedars in his yard and use them as yard art.

Kloz: I agree with Fen. If it's out of warranty and you're not going to fix it, try taking it apart to see if it's a loose or worn connection. Might be DIY fixable. If not, remove the hard drive and chuck the rest. I have so many hard drives from old computers. I never toss or give away computers with the HD in them. Pulled all of the HDs out of ex's computers before leaving them in the house (they were old). You can always get an external case and have a backup drive.

Orc wants to rewatch it because Ver3 was distracting. It was a bit gritty for Castle, more like a Life on Mars (BBC) episode gone to the extreme. It lacked something, that's for sure. Nice to see the two guys kicking butt together, but it felt like Castle was being dragged along a bit much.

I felt like they had Castle behaving stupidly through the whole thing, starting with not giving his daughter her mail and then just going along with a bunch of things he knew were wrong.

Are you friends with Castle on facebook? Go yell at him!

What do you mean? Castle is a character on TV?

Or, even better, ask him for the writers facebook accounts!

Thanks for the offer, but I don't have a monitor to hook it up to. I would really like to be able to see what is there, as I know it has booted up many times while I was playing around with it. I am afraid to ruin my desktop and/or laptop by plugging the netbook into it. To say technically challenged is a very polite term. It did come with a disk for Winxp and help items, but I cannot, of course run that until/unless I can see what I am doing. I think I have used it a total of 30 times during the time I have had it! I really hate to take the loss on this - and that is totally irrational.

Good morning (altho only a half hour to good noon). Del, enjoyed the cat bed - was it infused with catnip? Cat was having a ball! My cat sleeps at the top of a really tall cat tree, and he often forgets where he is and rolls out of it. I was so afraid he would kill himself or break something, but so far, so good.
