All this gloom, and I think you're on to something completely right about this. Well spotted!

oh man, awesome design! I love all of patrickspens's stuff.
I'd buy this one if it were $10...

Who says it is the ocean- t-shirt condition says "unsalted" so that would imply a lake.
Goldfish actually do have fairly high salt-tolerance and if conditioned slowly can live in water with fairly high salt levels. They can tolerate brackish water if not full-blown ocean water.
Oh- and for the curious they do have a product "Magical Water" that allows fresh and salt water fish to inhabit the same tank- note mix of freshwater and saltwater species in same tank... (although all the freshwater species in this tank have fairly high salt tolerances)

Awesome. Voted for this shirt twice, nice to editor's pick being used wisely.
Thank goodness it's on AA, in for 1.

I understand his sentiment completely. The $2 made a big difference for me too. (and no, I wouldn't pay $2 for a cup of coffee). I personally don't wear graphic tees. The wife can't wear them because she has breasts.
So I shop for the kids.
We bargain shop for all of us- most kids tees we pay about $5- so even the $10 it used to be was only for special tees from woot... I would grimmace and grit my teeth but shell out the $10.
I've not bought any since it went up to $12... There have been three or four I almost did- and would have if they were $10 still.
I've not ruled out buying a $12 tee for the kids from woot. It just has to be something even more special.
I think $12 is absolutely reasonable for an adult tee. If I wore tee-shirts I'd pay that price. It's just for kids stuff it started out at twice what I normally would pay to begin with- so any increase would dramatically drop how much I bought.

Do you never go out to eat or buy fast food or a coffee or anything else that isn't a strict necessity? It's ok to occasionally (maybe really frequently, I don't know you) waste $5 on a burger/latte/whatever but you won't put up two bucks to get a shirt you think is an "awesome design!" from an artist that you absolutely love???
Is it on principle to protest woot's greedy price increase? It happened, it's not going to change or revert back; if woot had seen the crippling drop in sales you all hope you're bringing about, then they would have dropped the price back down. To quote a very tired phrase, it is what it is bro.
This seems as silly as the people boycotting the non-USA shirts. Is it the company or the shirts that you're protesting? If it's the company, even if you only buy the American made shirts from them you're still supporting a company that chooses to sell imported goods. If it's the shirts and you'll only ever buy USA shirts, look in your closet and get rid of the tons of other imported clothes that you had no problem buying. Or make sure that every new item of clothing you buy from now on is made in the USA. What, that would be too hard/impossible? Yeah, nice protesting only when it's convenient for you.
Enough, no one cares anymore (...except for me apparently, since I'm responding). Either get over the changes that happened and start buying the shirts that you'd love to have again, or move on completely from shirt.woot and stop spamming your ineffective complaints that everyone has heard far too many times already.

I'm in profound debt, so I do try to be frugal. And while I don't feel too bad about spending money on something practical like a shirt, I spend with reserve (I've only bought 2 tees since 2006), and you have to draw the line somewhere - even though it's still a lot for me, I draw the line at $10. For the record, I don't care where the shirts are made, only how much they cost (all but a few of the t-shirts I own were obtained for free.) A 20% price increase pushes it over that line, meaning I probably won't be buying a shirt unless it's hand-painted by van Gogh, and even then only maybe.
If $2 is really that inconsequential to you, would you be willing to subsidize my purchases?
I didn't think so.
