I started to work with the wordplay first and then tried to illustrate it, when I realized that the design can stand on its own, maybe without words at all. So here are two versions with more or less words, just to test which version works better. Feel free to vote for both of them if you like it and hopefully you do.

Other than the mustache I'm missing the superiority of this design. I think its the shirt color and the ink colors... I don't dig brown on brown.

Agreed! The owls are good by themselves I don't think you need any words.

So I have never submitted to the derby before, and I guess I didn't really get the idea of the shirt detail and shirt comp down, so sorry for the smaller preview. I couldn't find a way to resubmit a better preview and shirt comp image, and am not sure how the rules are on re-submission.

Anyhoo, my fiancee and I came up with this little image for everyone to enjoy, even if it is a bit late. Thanks for viewing.

My fiancee and my own first attempt at a derby entry. We started way too late, we know, but figured it is better to start than procrastinate more.
