Re: ulysses returns

i finally found ( searched) a good translation of this poem,Translated by A. S. Kline

Happy, the man who finds sweet journey’s end,

Like Ulysses, or he of the Golden Fleece,

Returning home, well-travelled, wise, to Greece:
To live life out, among his own again!

Alas, when will I see the soft smoke rise

From my own village, in what far season

Shall I gaze on my poor house and garden,

Which are my province, and the greater prize?

My love’s deeper for what my fathers’ built,
Than Roman palace-fronts of marble, gilt;

My love’s deeper for good slate; more rare

My love for my French Loire than Latin Tiber;

My Liré than the Palatine Hill; and more

Than the sea breezes, the sweet Angevin air.

Re: the road not taken

Love this poem by Robert Frost! I have to agree with the others. Feather the edge of the image so it isn't as harsh and change the color of the shirt to either a yellow or tan with image in either as it is or in a medium or dark brown. Something akin to a sketching on parchment paper.

A good first entry into the derby! Do consider revising it. :D

Wow what a design, the fox looks like he is dreaming of a bunny buffet in Las Vegas perhaps!

Re: Tell Tale

Please resubmit this design for other derbies. It is way to neat to go unprinted on what I would consider to be semantics.

Here's the conundrum: I can't vote until I buy a shirt but I would totally vote for this shirt because I want to buy it. >.<

Re: The Rose That Grew From Concrete ( 2pac Shakur)

I absolutely love this design, would make a great shirt, poster or tote. Would love to see it on the back of a hoodie too.

The only thing I don't like is that it seems to be a bit large, or situated a bit too low.

orabbit wrote:Can I make a suggestion? Why do Photoshop people insist on generating halftones? Woot can do this on their end and do a much better job. I'm a screen printer, and the halftones from a RIP are much cleaner, not to mention I know what LPI I can print.

We do it because woot requires us to. Believe me, if I didn't have to, I wouldn't. You are only allowed six colors total on an image. (Plus negative space of shirt color.)

I don't understand why illustrator users aren't required to though. They are supposed to leave the gradients in. Doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't care. I will say it. This one made me cry. I love the strength and the standing up to adversity. No cowering. No going gentle into that good night. Bravo!

Beautiful, made me cry. I sooo want to go where the sidewalk ends. From now on, I'm looking for the arrow in everything I do and wherever I go.

I like how his little legs are twisted to the side. Precious details. I like many things about this design. Lots of wonderful, playful details. Very rich.

Thanks for the kind words, it actually means a lot. With all the amazing artwork in these derbies, I never expect to even make it in the fog, but its still fun to just draw and hope people enjoy it.

It is a song written specifically for the movie, unless he's referencing a different poem, in which case, which poem?

Re: The Lion and the Unicorn

I am not sure that the crown will show up well when this is printed. I'm not sure if that's because there is not enough contrast, or because the lines are not thick enough. I am basing this on how it looks in the thumbnail
