That's what I was thinking too :/

And unfortunately, showing halftone details doesn't make it any less likely that these are photos.

I'm a cyclist too, and I absolutely love this shirt! I wouldn't necessarily see this as an endorsement of a particular organization, but rather an endorsement of some complementary modes of transportation that can help green the planet!

curlycue9 wrote:My design is squished! Does anyone have any advice so this won't happen the next time??

I don't know if this is how everyone else does it, but I put a thin square around the shirt template. (Since the shirt itself is a rectangle... and woot shows images as squares, by putting a square around it it shouldn't squish) Hope that makes sense.

Re: Only Memories

I gotta say, I really love this design, it's eye-catching but feel all the half-toning on the grey/white areas a bit excessive.

Regardless, still gets my vote.

Re: The View

Well, I used a brush for the mountain (as I said), then turned into halftones and colored it myself. I guess the brush it's made for that picture/wallpaper (as you can see, my design is not that picture in its entirety). It's the use of brushes prohibited? If that's the case, I have no problem at all with my design being rejected.

It is a good shirt, and you no doubt put a lot of time into this design. Unfortunately, Woot has a no photograph policy because it is difficult to determine who the rightful owner of the image is. I'm assuming that you didn't take that photo, and if Woot printed the shirt, they (and you) could get in trouble with whoever did.
A very recent example is the Shepard Fairey "Hope" poster, in which he redrew a photo owned by the Associated Press and got sued by them.

Had you taken the photo, it wouldn't be an issue legally, but Woot still wouldn't allow it.
I think that all decent artists draw from references, and I need them all the time, but its important not to pass someone else's work as your own.

I really don't like being a tattle, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I'm not sure where the rejectionator is on this one, and I would like for some of the other designs get a chance in the new hottness.

Considering the bunny plus bicycle is probably roughly 14 - 16 inches tall max and those look like full grown pine trees in the back ground that are probably roughly 10 feet, I think the wide open space is probably between that very cute rabbit/turtle and the woods that are shown so very far off in the distance. That to me seems like it could count as a wide open space?

So let me get this straight. a wild rabbit, probably in the shade of gray or brown, painting a mural on a city wall is reasonable, but a white domestic bunny would not be able to paint it?
It's a freakin bunny painting a freaking mural! Who gives a rat's ass what color it is. It looks phenomenal.

also regarding all the negative about a bunny being in the picture and 'only doing it to feed to the people that vote for this kind of stuff...' (not directly quoted)

What does that matter? Is he supposed to do something that less people will vote for? Isn't the point to get the shirt to print. If it has been proven that people enjoy cute little bunnies and they will sell then yay for him for paying attention...

I'm one of the simple minded people that will buy this if it prints. I think it is an amazing shirt, however I would not buy it if there were another animal. (I have rabbits and will root for the rabbit shirts every time - unless they are portrayed in a harmful way or they look crappy)

Since the customer is the voter on woot, I would also create a shirt I thought a lot of people would like (if I were artistic)
