Re: The View

Depending on the brush license, it may be illegal to use it in this type of media anyway. (For profit.) Most brush artists give instructions to link back to them if used. (Or other instructions.) Unless you bought the brush set. In which they still probably are breaking the law using someone else's photograph. If you didn't buy the brushes, you could be sued if the brush maker found you, AND you could be sued by the photographer if it ever got printed. (As could Woot be sued.)

I hope that makes sense?

Re: Another Bird Design

Although this is a beautiful design, I feel this is slightly off topic in regards to this week's "Open Spaces" derby.. but that's only my opinion.

I think the design is more like a poster than shirt. I would like to have that poster but shirt not so much.

Re: Clean Up

I like this shirt because it can have so many meanings. It can be the "green washing" of factories but it can also be that things can be turned greener. It reminds that there are still much to do for our environment.

This one is real cute. Hope it doesn't get rejected for the words on the sign. If you can quickly edit those out and resubmit, you might want to do so.

Re: Only Memories

I feel like the bunny is a good choice, one of a few animals that exist in an urban area but also can easily be associated with sprawling green fields. Excellent work.

I have to disagree, the fox it's the element that made me want to take a close look to each tree. If he wasn't there, maybe you would take a quick glance at the design and say, "oh, its just a heart formed by a bunch of tress". But with the fox, it invites you to notice all the little details in the shirt. IMHO!

I was hoping that them being kind of blurred would be enough. When I originally made it, I wasn't even thinking of it as text...lol, I'm such a dufus. So I went in and tried to make them look more like where words might be, but not actually words. My first Derby sub, so I'm new to this. Fingers crossed it gets through.

Re: Only Memories

It is a well composed design, and I'm sure that it will nab one of the top spots along with Kevlar's design. I do not believe that is pandering to use a bunny in the design. I too live in the Denver/Metro Denver area, and in the past decade I have gone from seeing wild-rabbits nearly everywhere, from in the bushes to splattered across the roadways, to them being a "oh wow, a bunny" thing.

So to me, the choice of bunny/rabbit actually works really well and does not come across as pandering.

Oh, and Mr. Wednesday, you are perfectly welcome to make your arguments as to why you dislike any and all designs on Woot. I believe most people here would agree with that. However, what we in the community would like to have is an ounce or two more of civility, tact, and politeness from you. Words like "pandering," and "doing stuff for the masses," make it so that you are no longer deconstructing what you see as flaws in the design, but rather attacking the designer and the community at large.

Re: Explore

This one is really good. Could I make a suggestion though? Next time don't add a color for the night time sky and just let the shirt color be the sky color. Then it would be perfect!
