WOW. Just....WOW. This is absolutely marvelous. The only shirt in the derby I've seen so far that I would absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt buy if it placed. This is just fantastic. +1

The name Open Sky, Open Heart is a play on the inspiration - Lake Coeur 'd Alene - it means "Heart of the Awl".

Sorry for the multiple posts! Looks like Nox and I are both busy on the account today!

Re: Hiker's Dawn

the thumbnail looks better than the image on the shirt for some reason... its like the thumbnail is brighter and the full image of the shirt is washed out. i like the thumbnail better.

You always manage to make some of the most optimistically melancholy shirts I've seen. This one sits right up there. Nice work.

Neat, Jas! For some reason, this design feels very retro in a very cool way.

I always have a soft spot for this type of stamped ink designs. Great job!

Re: Only Memories

This entry is spectacular. I was going to do something with a similar concept, but I'm glad now that I didn't. It has been a while since I was this excited about one of your entries (or any entry in general) and I'm not just saying that because it has a bunny on it :p I used to regularly buy your designs, but they haven't been clicking with me as much recently. This one is perfection- I see a well deserved first place in your future gl

Re: Baby Steps to Greatness

Wow. I love how you somehow made this look hand painted. Plus I like the way you make the plants have a rough-hewn look to them. Pretty sweet.

mrwednesday wrote:The design and execution are good save for the fact that you had to pander to the bunny crowd rather than use an animal that would actually be in an urban area. Really cheapens the design and detracts from the execution. It's pretty disappointing actually. At this stage you might as well have thrown in a penguin and a turtle for good measure.

To be fair, rabbits were in central park up until 2006 or so, but I agree a raccoon or similar would have been more appropriate, if not a full-on warf rat.

move along

Sorry I guess its confusing. Your looking out of a slot canyon at a person rappelling down into it.

I love this! I do admit my smile turned into a frown upon reading the title and associating it with the picture. That just makes it more marvelous.

Re: Rush

@DianaSprinkle:
Thanks Diana! I was trying to go with something that was fashionable and nature themed but not overly preachy.

@anemality:
Thanks! One of my friends pointed out that not going with green may have been a misstep. I'm glad you like them.

@ChronoSquall14:
Dude, thanks. I'm trying to hone in on what people really want. I'm not quite there, but I'm trying.

@Spiritgreen:
Thanks, Spirit! It took me way longer than it probably should have because I went through a couple versions to get the composition right. And a preemptive +1 on your design.

@mrwednesday:
Thank you! It took me a while to get the colors like how I wanted them. Sure appreciate it!

Re: Shoot the Moon, Arches National Park

Hello. This is Chancho McGee. One time I spent 7 years sitting at Delicate Arch waiting for a cowboy-shaped cloud to float by and top off this torso-less arch formation. It was worth it as you can now see.

Get outside a little and shoot the moon, ok?

Time is running out to fill your curiosity.

We may be saying goodbye to my first woot print next Monday but I also wanted to let everyone know I've made a decision to reckon my entire personal site www.collinvh.com. The closing of the site will coincide with the next day of reckoning, Monday April 16. This could be a real sad day for me so come on and save those kitties.

Re: Only Memories

I find this to be incredibly evocative. The beautifully melancholic image--with the title to give it the final punch--is quite moving. Very well thought out and executed.
Definitely have my vote. I'd love to have it as a poster or "pocket picture card" though!
