We all have a special place in our hearts and minds that we covet and yearn for, often mourning what we've lost and wondering how we arrived so far from what once was ideal. We promise ourselves we'll get back there, come hell or high water and then life hands us a series of events that have us forever clicking our heels in an effort to return.

Never lose hope.

holy balls what a design. Never read Watership Down but now I'll have to... argh I'm super-iffy about $12 but why does this have to be so good?!

I'm thinking more along the lines of "To See the Rabbit." Though just as depressing.

Cool design, regardless.

The shirt design - great. Touching yet hopeful.

The beginning of the write-up - great. Watership Down, one of my favorite books.

The end of the write-up - Quentin Tarantino bursts into the ShirtWoot Writer's Room brandishing a machete. "Let ME finish the write-up" he screams in a maniacal voice, waving the 14" blade over his head.

The reader - sits in a state of shock, wondering 'what just happened?'

Okay I have two questions.

Is it 100% cotton or a blend?

Is it a black shirt, the description mentions gray and Pantone colors so I'm confused?

Gawd, that write-up was a bunch of hraka! Now I'm all choked up, dammit.

I think everyone loved Bigwig's curse that sat right in the middle of an alleged children's book -- because I sure as hell knew what it meant when I was about 10 or 11.

(I just wanted to use "hraka" in a sentence in the human world)

Reminds me of Bugs Bunny painting a tunnel on a brick wall, and having Wyle E. Coyote run into it. Excellent design.

I have two answers.

It's 100% cotton. If you click the Sizing Chart link in the orange box near the bottom you can see the fabric content as well as the country of origin (If it's Honduras the shirt is an Anvil brand, if it's USA then the shirt is American Apparel).

The shirt is black ("We call this color: The Black Rabbit"), and the colors at the bottom reference the colors of ink that will be printed on it. Pantone is the name of ink colors they use.

I just wish I could get this on the back of a Bike Jersey, it would fit the reason to ride and not drive ect..

This design is awesome. I wouldn't buy the shirt for me, but I would definately buy the poster. Note to woot.

Bring back American Apparel

I like the shirt (especially the black lines in the painting that suggest bricks), and I like most of the write-up, but the last line is killing me. "Owsla" is not a place, it's what the rabbits call their police/military force. Virtuous or brave rabbits' spirits don't join "the warren in Owsla", but they might join El-ahrairah's Owsla.

Hmm, not sure if I feel better now or just really nerdy. Anyway, nice work patrickpens!

mcnaryxc wrote:I'm really contemplating buying this shirt because of the emotion. But I can't help to think that if you took the title away from the shirt, that the emotion sort of lessens or disappears. Because if I was to get the shirt, the title "Only Memories" won't be on it, so I don't think people will grasp how depressing it is and just see a bunny with a paintbrush that painted a forest mural on a wall.

I'll have to think about this one.

I didn't look at the title before it brought a tear to my eye. It, like most shirts on woot, takes a moment to examine before you really get the impact of the image, but it speaks fine without the title, imho.

Try showing someone the image without the title if you still aren't sure.

looking to make my first shirt woot purchase but the sizing is throwing me off. . .

the men's 3xl chest width is only 28"? that's smaller than an xs (~31") in shirt sizes by most other retailers?

nevermind. i figured it out. one is around the chest and the other is just the front

Came here to say the same, the design is amazing, the Anvils are not so unfortunately I will not be purchasing this or any other derby winners.

I would have happily bought all 3 derby winners this week woot, everything in the fog looks great, I am quite unhappy about the shirt switch.
