We only get one lousy Earth Day to celebrate the our beautiful planet and all the ways we can pitch in to help keep it that way? Pish-posh, we say. After all, was Rome reused in a day? Did Da Vinci hide all those secret codes in The Last Supper using organic paints in a mere 24 hours? Was The Constitution put to recycled parchment in the mere time it takes for the Earth to make a full rotation on its axis? The answer, of course, is no on all counts.

That's why we've once again paired up with the fine ecology-minded people at the Sierra Club to being you our latest shirt sale, a week-long Earth Day Ecostravaganza! Each one of these designs will be printed on a 100% organic or recycled cotton blank, or on a 100% organic cotton tote bag! Take a look, but don't wait too long to order. These special items will disappear from the face of the Earth at 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 29th!

And if nothing tickles your tree-huggin' fancy? That's cool. But when we're all driven underground when the Earth' surface becomes a dry, withered wasteland of garbage and smog, don't come crying to us. Next week, there will be a whole new shirt sale if, of course, we all last that long. And don't forget to give the shirts at The Reckoning a look!

Looking forward to seeing it!

Does that mean I should buy a SquareTrade warranty for my shirt?

Where is "undergrounf?"

Is it somewhere near the Great Underground Empire of Zork?

Edit: Looks like ya fixed it. ;)

$17 is a bit steep for a shirt. If the proceeds went to a clean up the earth type organization then I'd buy a shirt.

edit:
I didn't even notice the no 3x option.

A Sad side sale week this is.

that was fun while it lasted!

Oh no! I was hoping and praying and sweating blood hoping that some day, someone would bring back one of the shirts that I stab myself in the eye for not buying. When I saw this Earth Day / Recycling awesomeness, I thought to myself, "Yes! This is the moment I have been waiting for! The shirt I wanted is all about recycling!"

But it's not here.

Where is it?

I need it!

Oh please, sell it to me! I'd pay triple for it!

I've wanted "Gummistone Park" forever - or so it seems. I can't believe it's available for a week and I still can't get a copy. ARRRRRRGH!

From the sizing chart's fine print...
"One percent of the net profit from the sale of every Green organic tee will be donated to environmental causes"

I'm actually wearing a Anvil Organic T made in Nicaragua right now. MHO, noticeably better fit and feel than the new woot! Honduras Anvil's.

Perhaps, but still nothing available for women (both smaller and larger) who preferred the fit of the AA shirts.

FWIW, that's Anvil's net profit, not Woot's, so a lot less goes to environmental causes than it appears to be.

Aw, I would have bought an X-Treme National Park on a normal t-shirt, but I never wear long sleeves. Aw aw aw.

I may get the one with the robot killing a reincarnating zombie but I'll have to check my finances to see if I can afford it.

The act of killing zombies does, indeed, save the Earth.

Saving the World, One Small Step at a Time has been on my wish list forever. To the point I was considering buying an anvil (especially considering collin's comment above). $17? Pricey, but I just got a decent paying job so I will treat myself. Get to order page. No 3x.

Well, balls. Three strikes! Fat girls (and guys) want to save the world too.

Trade with me on TeeTrade!

That recycled green is a nice colour that shows designs off well. It makes for a good neutral canvas. A green and blue shirt blank in this tonal range might be a worthwhile addition to the woot shirt line-up.

Woot has been a powerful force in recycling for years now. Just check the front page after any derby. I'm not sure why you expect them to donate MORE when they've already made such huge sacrifices.

Noooooo!!!

I been realllly wanting "Saving the World, One Small Step at a Time" lately. I just read I, Robot for the first time last week and so now I'm all Robot crazy! It was sad enough that when they had the awesome Robot side-sale that I couldn't buy anything (only had Anvils for women and too-big-for-smaller girls longsleeve shirts available) and again Woot - you are taunting me with another shirt I can't buy because of the blank choice

I think I'm going to start keeping track of all the shirts I would have bought if they were available in AA for women. Some have been really painful for me like the Jabba the Fluff shirt by ochopika that I wanted so much!

I'd be more impressed with gross profits, net are so fixable, especially for a single product line.

I have to agree with the sad face for no 3X. What's up with that? The gummy bear shirt is cute and I really liked the time lapse shirt (voted for that in the derby). But I guess they aren't on AA anyway.

Oh but Congrats to jasneko as well!

Does anyone know the color of the green recycled tees? The icky grey-brown in the graphic for them really doesn't work for me. I'd love to get a new copy of tgentry's Watch It Grow, but would prefer to know what it will look like.

My daughter will want Gummistone Park, and I'm left wishing Explore, Enjoy, Protect was available in a short sleeve T.

I wish The Original Recycler was included, too. While I do have a copy, another one of my phoenix shirts was just ripped over the weekend, and now I need backups...

Im sad about that too. I never, ever wear long sleeves if I can help it. -sadness I wanted a new bear. All my old bears are super worn out, haha. Oh well, may the long sleeve lovers rejoice in the glory of the ATV!!!

I was wondering about that, too. Kev's Save the Trees looks... odd on that weird grey-brown color.

well, I guess that is the color. Anvil's Recycled Green really doesn't look green to me at all. Their Eco Green would've been better.

I now feel better about the Phoenix Recycler shirt not being offered, as if it was offered on the recycled green I wouldn't get it. bleh.

A side sale theme of Earth day, featuring shirts made where environmental regulations are lax? I mean really woot if you are going to charge a premium at least make them all AA shirts.

NOTHING on AA? Not even the long sleeved shirts we were told would always be AA?

NO women's sizes on long sleeves?

Does woot even bother to read their customer complaints???

There are lots of great designs here. But unfortunately, as someone who used to wear an AA WM, NOTHING that will fit me.

adamselby

quality posts: 2 Private Messages adamselby

The color of the recycled shirt makes Save the Trees look great! Not that the original print was bad or anything. Too bad it's not an AA recycled, otherwise I'd be all over it (just like everyone else apparently). Charging a premium for Anvil for those organic shirts is just crazy.

Not really. They do cost more.

That said, some of that "greenness" has since been offset by the transportation aspect. If Woot really wanted to make a statement, printing on SOS from Texas would've made the most sense.

There weren't long sleeved women's sizes in AA, either. And please find where anyone from staff said they would ALWAYS be AA.

Since the image quality isn't that great, it is a post from ProfHotPants on Feb 21, and it reads:
"(quoted) Does this mean you will be using AA blanks for long sleeve tees? (end quote)
Our long sleeve blanks will remain the same."

We could buy a couple and just cut the sleeves off? We'll look Texas Trashy, which is kind of in this season...I mean, have you been to the mall lately? Hotdamn. @_@

But yeah, very sad not to get Mr. Bear on a regular tee. It's already reaching triple digits in the south. No need for long sleeves. Ever. @_@
