Is there a quality control department? Or tech support?

The site crashed for about 10 minutes and wouldn't let me shop, and I couldn't order shirts. I'm upset and feel cheated, b/c I wasn't going to make a purchase at all but felt compelled to buy gifts and now I still want to give the gifts but don't want to pay 15 vs 12.

The sale was up for an hour. A 10 minute crash means you still had 50 minutes. Since there were lots of successful buyers, it's hard to claim that woot is at fault.

No emails about the sale, just happened upon it within the time frame, no counter telling me when it would end. I didn't know it was going to end as randomly as it started, especially since it didnt end on the hour.

Successful buyers don't make me feel any better about the site not loading and giving me internal errors. I just want to make my purchases.

Could someone help me in a productive way?

It's a woot off. It's random. The only 'advance notice' that ANYONE got is that they often do a random sale at the Woot headquarters lunch hour. It did say it was for one hour, and looking at the forum would have ID'd that it started at 2:15 EST. (12:15 in Texas).

Try emailing the service department. They would presumably know about any issues the site had during that time frame. Hopefully you grabbed a screen shot or something to help your case. Given that it's a special hour-long sale, I don't know what, if anything, they will do. From what I've experienced and seen they're a pretty helpful and friendly group, but given the setup of a woot-off, it might come down to "sorry you didn't get stuff in on time."

Edit - For the future, I suggest liking woot on facebook. That way all the stuff in the woot-off pops up on your newsfeed. Plus, once a woot-off starts, you can know to keep an eye out for a shirt sale.

Well that's it then, Thanks.

Yes, I can confirm there were server issues. What can be done, I don't know. Please feel free to mail service@woot.com and see what they say.

I'm just hanging out, really.

I'll see what happens if I can get in contact with them, Thanks for those suggestions!

It never hurts to try emailing service@woot and seeing if things can be resolved positively. Good luck! Hopefully since woot did know about the server problem (as Inkycatz confirmed) things can work out well.

All the shirts were sold but they were on sale for $12 (instead of $15) for one hour. During the first day of a woot-off, there's often [but not always] a shirt sale at 13:00 woot-time (i.e., Central time)

I'm still seeing items in the woot-off today. Does that mean this might happen again?

Two sales in one woot-off has never happened before. Extended, yes, but not two on two days.
