I guess I should have figured since it is octopuses not octopi, but it just feels more right with the "i" at the end than the "uses".

The percentage is just output as a halftone. Woot does it on their end. There would be a white underbase below the main body color so the highlight isn't shirt color. The shadow is printed over the body color. At least that's how I would do it in my shop.

Zagazoo wrote:I really like this design! My only worry would be that it isn't initially clear that it's Pluto in the suit. Too bad we can't use text, your title "Nice Try Pluto" would be a perfect underneath. Bet it would be super popular then. Nice work!

Good Point Zagazoo. If the rest of the solar system had been depicted smaller in the background, the fact that it was Pluto could be inferred easier.

Very cute pic!

Nice design! Not to be a downer, but couldn't immediately see the "up-ness" for upquark or the "strange-ness" for strangequark.

I love the colors, I love the chunky craters on the moon, but most of all I love the chubbiness of the cow.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still learning how to do this stuff. I may hold on to this one and rework it later.

My buddy and I also thought it would be more appropriate to use CGS units since that is preferred in astronomy.

It means the design looks unfinished, which it does.

I really like the changes you made (: I think the halftoned background makes the biggest difference. It fills the design in without being overly distracting. Great work.

Re: Hello Universe

Love the concept, it's just that the colors make it nearly impossible to read some of the print.

Also, just to nerd out, the dominant pathway for carbon production via fusion is... He + He + He = C

Re: Storytelling

Love the concept, and I'd buy it as is (and have indicated as such.) If this doesn't make it though, I hope you try again with a similar concept. I think you could have told the same story with just one animal family (cute bears are winners) and maybe a little less/more subtle detail on the constellation. Might make the shirt a little more simple and easier to wear.

But the concept I love.

Thanks for posting this! Sad but true and nothing will be done about it either.

And this design wouldn't be in the fog it was designed by anyone else. The design being red on a red shirt just makes it look muddied. Are those planets or a cluster of black holes? Is the sun that faint outline on the bottom? It doesn't look like a finished design at all.

Re: Anyone Out There?

I agree that the second version is much better. It works better without the kid and it's a better composition. It also leaves more to the imagination.
