I was one who did bounty hunter for W2XL shirts back when they only used AA blanks...and now I have Anvil WL that fit better. They are definitely larger than AA WXL. I have two Anvil WXL that I swim in. Always check the size chart for each shirt you consider buying to avoid mistakes.
You can also avoid shrinkage by hang drying. It's not hard, and spares unnecessary wear, shrinkage, and design degradation (and saves energy). My very first woot shirt (AA WXL) that I got over three years ago looks and fits like new. I have decade-plus-old shirts that look new, too.
