What I love about this shirt is that (1) it's a freckin Doctor Who shirt! and (2) it shows the complexity of the TARDIS.

Anyone know what size Jim Parsons wears? This would be PERFECT for him to wear on TBBT! Wonder if one were to be sent by Woot (or someone else) to the wardrobe person on the show if it might make its way onto an episode.....

(Wil Wheaton....are you listening?)

I'm supposed to be on a Tshirt buying freeze, but how am I supposed to resist a MC Escher/Doctor Who combo shirt? That's insanity.

Sorry husband, this has to be bought.

At least I have a jumbowoot coupon to ease my conscience a bit. XD

It is not a police call box. It is a police box. There IS a big difference. Have you ever seen a lock and key on a phone booth or call box? Also, a call box or phone booth would have a phone in it.

People see a phone booth shaped box called a police box and assume that it has a phone in it for calling police.

Police boxes were not for use by citizens in calling police. They were for use by police in detaining citizens. They were basically temporary holding cells around the city that people could be locked in while law enforcement dealt with whatever else they had to deal with before hauling the criminals off to jail.

That's why it has a lock and key.

Psst, it does have a phone in the left hand door. That's what the little white door that says "Police telephone free for use of public" etc. hides behind it.

All sizes on AA

Maybe ApeLad would be willing to tell us what number he got for first day sales?

Really impressive debut number - Happy Birthday, ApeLad!

Take note of the sizing chart - these are printing on the old AA blanks.

Thanks for pulling the first day sales figure! I was curious to see if there were sales right after midnight and it looks like there were slightly more than usual: I was #4263 around 12:07AM.

Colors: I don't see either cranberry or olive in narf's collection of ApeLad shirts, both of which are still printing on AA (hint hint! )

While this shirt may not last as long on the reckoning charts as "It came out of nowhere" I have a feeling it will be there for a while, as I just purchased the 4,500th copy of the shirt!

The Tardis most definitely DOES have a phone. It's right behind the white plaque thing that says "Police Telephone Free for use of Public." The Doctor actually answers the phone in the episode "The Empty Child." The top of the real box even says "Police PUBLIC CALL BOX" on it. Police Boxes were there to lock people in, yeah, but they also had a phone in them fox calling the police to come pick them up. ;)

Ummm. Yeah. Oops. Geek fail.

[/face]

Still, though. There's a big difference between a police box and a phone booth. Even though they had phones for contacting police, they were also used by police as temporary detainment cells. Abuses of them as this are what led to them being discontinued.

[/blush]

But hey, at least my favorite shirt in a long while seems to be doing VERY well for the Reckoning!

Aww man, I think it might have been me. I waited until price changed to $15 before I ordered. It's my vote to keep it in The Reckoning as long as possibly (or for at least four weeks).

Well, It's clearly a TARDIS... it's taking it's own sweet time to get to me and it seems to have found a new and unusual route to get here. Normally I get my shirts in around a week but this one is stuck in a space time rift that has it scheduled to get here on the 21st by the tracking info and I ordered it on the 9th.

I hope this isn't the case for the rest of you, but if it is.. you aren't alone.

Never cared for Matt Smith and Amy Pond, but I am now The Mom Who Waited.

Aw, phooey.

I'm usually so good about checking the sizing chart, but the whiplash of NEED for this shirt must have caused me buy it so quickly I failed to notice that the women's sizes are printed on the horrid AA blanks that absolutely do not have room for my boobs.

(Yes. I am one of *those* women who love the new Anvil tees because they look GREAT on me. AA seems to believe all women are built like teenage boys.)

But... now I'm confused. The current sizing chart says Honduras, which would mean what? Woot ran out of AA baby blue blanks and is only now printing them on Anvil?

... Anyone out there want an AA WXL of this shirt?

I didn't discover Doctor Who until 2009. I was housesitting for friends who had BBC America and I was intrigued by the episodes The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. After catching up on the new episodes I went back and started watching original Who. I love Patrick Troughton.

Actually, no, it doesn't have a wireframe tardis... look again, it is an impossible box, I very clearly remember it freaking me out when I first bought it years and years ago. plus, I still have the book and I'm looking right at it.

AA? Anvil? I'm confused. This is my first Woot T. I read the sizing chart. I measured. I ordered. It seems to be smaller on the inside than the outside. Women's XL usually fits me quite baggy. I can't breathe.

well, got the shirt. The Men's M (I like the fit of men's more than women's shirts) is a little baggy but overall nice. I have gotten more compliments on this shirt than any other Woot I own... Including total strangers demanding I give them the name of the store where I got it, and a very enthusiastic check out girl screaming "Timey Wimey!"

Email service@wootdotcom. When did you order the shirt? It originally printed on AA blanks and then moved to Anvil blanks in mid-May; the Anvil blanks are considerably larger than the comparable size in AA, but the sizing chart should have been updated at the same time as the shirt moved from AA to Anvil. Either way, service@woot is who you want to talk to!
