Are we finally going to be rid of the Spelling Bee? What can I say, that shirt annoys me. Mostly because of the watching various submissions get rejected for being too similar to an existing shirt, and yet they were not as similar as that daily is to ones avilable elsewhere.
I've thought about this a lot, mainly because of cheesesandwitch's One Cheer for Broccolli, and I've arrived at this conclusion: Time matters.
If I submit a Daily they can send it over to legal, run it through it's paces, pull some data and review it. They ask if you used any art, and they're willing to licence it if it's not to expensive. Etc. All this takes time, but since we've seen Dailies take 2 months or more, they've got the time.
If I submit a Derby, they've got 24 hours. Even if we're going to be cynical and say "The top 3 on Monday always win." They've still gots 3 days tops. That's not enough time to do the due dilligence they need for shirts with other people's art, that may be to similar, that need a consult from legal. So rather than take a chance, they drop the hammer there.
That's your trade off though, Instant Gratification vs. More Artistic Licence.

I find my speeling is bitter at home than at wurk, because I can on;y use IE here, and they haven't got a build in speel cheeker.

And does anyone remember which blanks Critical Hit debuted on for men and kids?
Wow! Congratulations! That's a really big deal and I suspect that "only going to get worse" is the understatement of the year. I hope things are running more smoothly now with TeeTurtle and that it's a well-oiled machine by the time that you start school.
