The nice thing about being an American is that, when something goes wrong, there’s some paperwork setting a standard of how things should be. Naturally some people ignore it, and some people try to get around it, and some people think it shouldn’t apply in specific cases, but sooner or later, it all comes out, and the bullies get exposed for the jerkfaces they are. Because that’s what it means to be “of the people, by the people, for the people”.
But if you’re under a slightly different system, maybe perhaps a system that makes you subject to a hereditary class, it’s a little harder to claim the all created equal thing. So it might be a little scary to start seeing things like a woman get arrested for asking for a badge number or a passerby getting killed on his way home from the pub, especially since your documents aren’t the same as ours.
Basically, we hope that all you nice people with the cool accents order this one carefully. Here in the United States it’s just a nice little shirt that will make people laugh. But over there, in Crazytannia, there’s a good chance it could be called grounds for a legal truncheoning. We’re all for punk rock style state smashing (after all, that’s basically the whole reason why Texas exists) but please, if you must wear this shirt while annoying “the man”, be sure to turn it inside out. No one’s gonna spend twenty million to resurrect you as Roprotestor, after all. And even if they did, do you really want to be eating that baby food crap?
Wear this shirt: while reading Naked Lunch. If you don’t understand why, well, that’s a little research project for you, isn’t it?
Don’t wear this shirt: while you’re impolitely asking the women to leave the room. Women are people too, you know. You should address them respectfully and say “please” and “thank you”.
This shirt tells the world: “If Kanye West can do it, why can’t we?” Also don’t be that one guy who has to post “Kanye West Sucks!” just because we used his name in the writeup. That’s all played out.
