Derby #140: Things That Start With the Letter S
Our Alphabet Derby Series continues with the salacious, scintillating consssssssonant S. Sorry, we've been watching a lot of The Letter People lately. You know what to do: come up with the most interesting things in the world that start with the 19th letter of the alphabet (which, coincidentally, started showing up in print in the 19th century) and get your voiceless alveolar fricative on! As always, though, pop-culture stuff like Snakes on a Plane is not owned by us (yet!) and is thus unprintable. So don't waste your time.
No video-game references.
No text. But if you want to use images to suggest the shape of the letter S, that's okay. Maybe a sack of slugs shaped solidly similar to an S! Yeah, that's why we write copy instead of design t-shirts.
Things that start with S in languages other than English are OK. As long as you can prove it's a real word and actually spoken by real people. And no, Oppish doesn't count.
