Would love to know the process... assuming you used a 3D tool to map the letters to a wireframe... if you're willing to share.

There were quite a few iterations in this one. My first major attempt was my New Colossus design last year.

I use Google Sketchup to get the wireframe down and tweaked

Once I've got my model(s) and angle(s) down, I use Illustrator for text placement.

I use DAZ 3D Bryce for textures and shading

I use Photoshop to assemble the files and do the separations/halftoning.

There is a lot of trial and error bouncing back and forth between Bryce, Illustrator and Photoshop to get things "just right".

Actually, there are three colors - a very dark blue is there, as well. It does make a difference, even if your monitor has significant glare.
