Oh well,
The Rubber Duck Strikes Back!

One of the best yet in the Derby.

If it gets made, maybe I could take it somewhere and have crosshairs printed over it.
I'm still upset the target ducky didn't make in the water derby.

I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the artist had to make a change to the design in order to resub to a later derby? Is position of design a suitable change? Just curious.

Edit: Yes, I know the 33 was a joke, but it was the last post, so I quoted it.

Surprisingly, it's doing almost as well as it did two weeks ago. I'm surprised considering how resubs (in almost any form) usually work.

w: 7 | t.w: 1 | h.w: 1 | tg.w: 0 | sp.w: 0 | a.w: 0 | k.w: 0 | s.w: 15 | w.w: 15 | so.w: 2

As someone who also resubmit a shirt this week because it was inspired by a song when I'd created it first, I completely understand where you're coming from.

However, as someone whose resubmission, despite not breaking 25 votes the first time, was rejected for not being different, it seems a joke that yours, which did far better its first time, would remain. Especially since you are known for reusing your artwork almost every week. Personally, I'm excited to see how you re-use your rockin' crocodile. Maybe there will be a lizard derby?

if you notice i usually only resub an idea that did either well or that was vastly improved

moving it up to the center was "vastly improving" the design? seems like there's a bit of a double standard here. I don't know your history at all, but i did see some others rejected for being too similar...this is exact except placement and maybe a few dots of blue.

Not a personal thing, just asking for a little consistency - which seems to be a big problem with these derbies and causes a lot of the drama from what i can tell.

i said one or the other...

if its not personal don't put negative comments in my thread... tattle or write woot a letter or start a forum...

as far as my exaggerated history... out of 33 derbies i've resubbed in maybe 7.
and most of those were flying penguins which were resubbed because the original did reallllly well and would have printed had it not been rejected... i wasn't using pantones at the time. kick the habit penguin was turned from joke entry to serious entry. and i already eplained rubber ducky...

Maybe my monitor or eyes aren't that good, but SDS looks like it's the exact same detail image? Like, the same jpg, not one that was recreated and just happens to look similar? I think this is what immediately caught my eye, so I didn't notice that your comp and detail weren't even of the same illustration. I now see the hint of blue under the ducky in the comp, although even that seems a bit small of a change for a resubmit, IMO (based on the fact they rejected the hungry hungry hippos resub, with a completely different layout, scene, and everything, but simple reuse of characters).

Don't ask me... i was gonna resub and not make any changes and let it ride... i know it was a risk and i was willing to take it... but it's their site they do as they please. so ask the people that make those decisions

Re: Inspired by Rubber Ducky

oh yeah and another reason i resubbed this is cause i entered it wayyyy late last time and thought maybe it just needed more time or a better jump out the gate...

maybe woot didn't reject this cause they hoped it would get into the fog so they could reject it then, and make me cry

Please check it out

Technically he did change it, I guess taking the crosshairs off of it passes as a big enough change, plus woot never made the original shirt so... ya know.

I really like designs like this.
Simple is best.
