Hey peoples, I hope you like my shirt! I based this off the line, "I've heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord." My goal was to make a shirt that's classy enough to be worn to any occasion, but has a joke to anybody who pays enough attention. Any comments would be appreciated!

cooool. I didn't get the reference until I read the description. I always picture King David, but, yeah, I see that now. Nifty.

If only the shirt played the song. I'm really only half joking. I love Hallelujah that much (esp. the Buckley cover).

I love how there's an "A" on the guitar.

Oh yea, the reference may be a little obtuse. The arrows and letters on the guitar is the "konami code". It was one of the first more popular codes to be used in a game. Thus, the "secret" chord.

Whaddoya think? Better gone or should it stay?

The joke is fantastic, but they'll reject it for having the "A" since it counts as text. Maybe you could replace the arrows w/ guitar hero buttons? Not as cohesively subtle, but it might get the absurdist anachronist vote, including mine.

"I heard there was a secret code
That David played because he knowed
That it could get him thirty lives in Contra.
It goes like this, up up, down down
Left right, left right, B, A, select
Start over if you're too slow for the title screen..."

It's as good as most of the designs here IMO. But you do have to remove the text if you don't want to be rejected.

While I admit the "A" is an oversight in the design, I'm going to hold firm to the policy of following the spirit of the law. If woot decides to reject it, I'm perfectly willing to accept that. However, I feel the "A" is a large part of the "Secret Chord" theme. It's less text than a representation of a button found on many common gaming consoles. The text rule seemed aimed at anybody who wanted to paste "My Heart Will Go On" (Or similar song-specific line) in italics underneath the picture. The "A" isn't trying to convey a written message, just provide context for the joke.
