Re: Inspired by Good Vibrations

AdderXYU made one excellent point about this design, that it had too much of the wave in front as a wide open expanse, so I remade the design with an additional sound wave there. In addition, I gave it a bit more of the 60s feel by adding a couple of those flowers that were everywhere back then on the back speaker. I already tried for some of that feel with the peace sign sticker on the front speaker. I made the speaker fronts black too, to give it a bit more of the feel of the times. I am well aware that the song isn't about surfing, but the Beach Boys certainly were, and the sound of the song really evokes the surf sound they did so well.

So the "printing horribly like the live traced moon" comment wasn't an excellent point as well? I'd think it'd be something you'd want to avoid. Your designs always seem to garner a decent number of votes, and I'd simply hate for all those different people to wait and wait for their shirt just to get a big blue glob on the front of their chest, not to mention that, as I said, having two shirts that simply don't come out well may harm your reputation as a designer. Ability to be printed should be your first concern, since that is the ultimate goal.

Edit: I just read your post in the original thread. So angry, sir. I'm just stating the facts as I see them. If you compare your submission for your moon to the picture you posted of it live and in person, the colours aren't remotely similar, which kills the effect, and the detail is lost in the printing because it was a vectorized photo, which in later cases woot proved they are still having trouble printing. This design has incredibly thin lines, but moreover, equally incredibly thin spaces between them. If woot would print this to a degree where the concept or the lines were remotely visible, and DIDN'T look like a blue smudge, I'd be incredibly surprised. It doesn't matter how big this design gets... the lines are so tiny as is that they won't get better defined in the printing. if you want to take that as "my ___" that is your prerogative, but it will make you look foolish if you keep submitting things with these issues, and get a second printing as lackluster as your first win.
