great concept, but feel it could be alot better...it is quite difficult to make out that one side is a skull

Actually I did a remix... after I posted this one, I noticed the similarity to the ying-yang. So, I bared a little more skull, made the worms smaller and a bit more detailed.
I just never vectored it and resubbed...
