Born in the summer of '69! This design is dedicated to my mom and dad...especially my mom who's having a tough week. Hope this one brings a smile.

Both my parents painted the VW vans and beetles with the hippie flowers, peace symbols, and more. Woodstock occurred just a few weeks before I was born. So, this is my tribute to that period of time.

wow. gorgeous! I'm really impressed with your use of color - I kept counting them sure that you had used more than 6 colors + shirt, because it's got such a rainbowy feel.

definitely gmv! I'd love to be able to wear this shirt.

Yes. Only 6 colors...I snuck the shirt color in for an extra color. Red, Black, Blue, White, Purple and Yellow are the colors and then the green is the shirt color peeking through. Thanks Mia! I'm working away from home and it feels strange designing and uploading from different houses and computers. But, I'm glad I was able to get this one done. Thanks for the vote!

Thanks MJC....hey...has your red box request grown in the past week? I was very close to choosing red for this design....really....and I thought of your signature when I was choosing the red template.

I'll have to try to design something on red in an upcoming derby....just for you!

I have 3 form 1970. They are all music related and not doing very good. Just not really promoting this week. I had figured we were close age. I was conceived in the Summer of 69 and that year has so many possibilities IMO.

Oh no! Now you've gone and given woot another derby possibility...not the year of birth, but the year of conception. I agree...designs for 1969 are a bit more fun than the ones from 1970.

You both have been working on some great entries this week! I'm enjoying seeing the range in ages of the designers. I had an idea of a lot of people's ages based on their posts. But, a few designers have surprised me this week.

I was hoping this entry would jump up to the fog like Cho's did in a matter of hours, but I guess it can't because it's not a bird or animal. ANOTHER awesome entry that will never get printed. I love it though. It's something that would actually be recognizable as to what the theme is. Not just another well drawn animal. Good luck though. I would def buy 2 should it place.

Great Bug, kls! As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I thought this was your design. Your wonderful touch with colors really jumps off the page, even in a tiny thumbnail. If this does get printed, I'll definitely be in for at least one. My kids are always playing "Punch Buggy" in the car. I could not NOT get this shirt, if that makes any sense.

This is so much better than the fog right now. Something tells me I'll be saving money during this derby.

Hey Parker! Thanks for the comments. Better not play 'punch buggy' when you're wearing the shirt!

I loved this derby. Not so much for the designs, but for learning more about the designers and the year they were born. At first, I thought we'd learn a lot about the voters too, but I don't know if the votes are really age-related. I suspect folks are still going to vote on a design that is wearable. So, the woot voting demographic may still be a well-kept secret.

I liked doing the bug entry. I was able to to add my flowers and whimsy, but in a recognizable hippy way. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks Patch! It does look like more than 6 colors were used, but it really is just six as I used the shirt color for the green.

The guitar and peace dove were adapted from an actual woodstock poster. I thought it woudl be good to have the Peace, Love, Music theme across the car.
