Re: Newton's Horror
Well, I did this before I saw the other one. The theme is motion, which led me to Sir Newton's laws, and then to a Newton's cradle. My luck that someone else always seems to get the same ideas that I have.

not in this short of a time period. it's easily something more than one person would think of.

but the other one was posted in the discussion thread about this derby, which he could have seen it there. The face expression and idea of it makes me wonder...

I live with him... trust me, he was working on this LAST NIGHT from 6pm to about 3am when we both went to bed. =)

I believe you. Not everyone reads the discussion threads. Twice someone beat me to an idea. Twice I was horribly bummed about it :/

When people see a very well done piece they don't pick it to copy, so I don't think this is very plausible.
Great design, it's good to see Newton's cradle represented. I was thinking about making one myself, but you and sokowa pulled it off way better than I could. Two artists with similar ideas can be testament to the idea's appeal.

So if an idea is posted in the discussion thread (which not everyone looks at btw for various reasons), it is automatically off limits? I think this concept would be pretty common to the topic 'motion'. Plus, who doesn't give the little spheres voices when they play with these things?

the idea of it, plus face expressions, plus color of shirts, thats why it came up a red flag in my personal opinion, cause a shirt like this is also entered in derby.
But its already been clarified ![]()

true... personally like this one better. Like the perspective on the stand and strings! gmv
Re: Newton's Horror
Different enough from sokowa's in my book. Nothing wrong with someone being inspired by other work any way.
sailstud25 wrote:true... personally like this one better. Like the perspective on the stand and strings! gmv
ya, I was 50/50 whether to do perspective or not. I opted not to so I can really focus on the expressions. Now we have both versions
sokowa wrote:ya, I was 50/50 whether to do perspective or not. I opted not to so I can really focus on the expressions. Now we have both versions
I was unsure about that, too. Mainly because I didn't think I could pull off the perspective. But that was how I kept picturing it in my head, so I went for it.
Re: Newton's Horror
Well, you both did a great job with your ideas. Good luck!
Re: Newton's Horror
yeah it's not surprising to see this idea more than once in this theme. good job on yours as well.
Re: Newton's Horror
Brilliant job, sweetie! One of your best! (Although, Poisoning Pigeons in the Park was my fav. of yours) I miss you. =3 <3

Re: Newton's Horror
I actually like this one a bit better than the other entry.
Re: Newton's Horror
I love the facial expressions on the little guys hehehe
snarkygal wrote:I love the facial expressions on the little guys hehehe
I prefer the expressions on sokowa's, though I think this looks more like the real thing -the strings on the other one are really short.
Re: Newton's Horror
I'm a fency kinda guy . . . I like both shirts! i would be happy to have either! great job!!
Re: Newton's Horror
can never have enough newton tshirts! GMV.
eHalcyon wrote:I prefer the expressions on sokowa's, though I think this looks more like the real thing -the strings on the other one are really short.
ohhhh i didnt even notice how short the strings were on the other one till you mentioned it.
And like others said...i prefer royal over the baby blue as well.

The person who did the second Raven shirt had the same excuse and made it into the Fog *shrug*
Re: Newton's Horror
There is no way this is a copy cat, this one has a good shirt color, i say throw the other one out.
jbedwar1 wrote:yeah it's not surprising to see this idea more than once in this theme. good job on yours as well.
I thought of this idea last night too, and about five minutes later saw the first one posted on the boards. Thought to myself, well shoot, was too slow on that one. It really is a great idea, and GMTA.
Re: Newton's Horror
Oh yeah, that's just what I need. . . someone looking at my chest and telling me, "Nice knockers."

My name seems to proceed me. Intriguing.
Normally I would be trilled to upload a design. However, there are many factors that affect the reason I have not. 1. I am too damn drunk right now. 2. There is too much damn 3D modeling homework to be done. 3. I forget, but it was a really damn good one. Probably had something to do with getting married in a month.
:p

I voted for both because they are both good. I do prefer the Oh carp swinging ball on this design though.
I def like this one better. More votes!!!!

I think it's supposed to be read a "Discuss sex" "with children", not, "Discuss" "sex with children".
