kanji is the term for japanese characters....that they stole from the chinese years ago. the Chinese were writing on tortise shells thousands of years before the japanese.

Surely the Japanese kanji originated from Chinese characters but I don't think "stole" is the right word to use. China introduced written language to Japan, not the Japanese stealing it from China. I'm sorry but I found your comment somewhat discriminating.
