Very pretty. Black won't show up on brown, though.... might want to change that ink color and resubmit quickly while you have the time.

Yeah.. that's why I made the very exaggerated imagery (giant flower, hummingbird, etc) in black.. it's big enough that it should be seen, and if not at a distance at least it adds beautiful elements up close. I made the smaller details a light brown and yellow so that they would be more visible. Thank you for the compliments =)

Well, damn. I'm actually working on something like this, since my other entry bombed. Well, WAS working. No point now. My god, this is beautiful, and the level of detail is amazing. GMV.

Re: Mother Nature

Mother nature is off topic? Hmmm. I shall have to rethink the design I was almost getting around to.

Hmm... I guess they're looking for stuff that's really very much about motherhood and not just mothers. But then there are quite a few others around (including my own) that I think should be considered off topic as well. I guess it's subjective, so it just depends on what Joel thinks.

That makes me sad. This shirt is beautiful. Apparently you need to put a baby stuck on her somewhere, or a bear of some kind or something.

I always prepare myself for rejections, so I'm not too burnt up. =) There's always been and always will be, from the designer's standpoint, "unfair rejections". One really unfair one what comes to mind is the "text" cat in the no-text winter derby. But my point is, I had it in the back of my head that off-topic might befall this design.. so i just patiently wait to see the theme Thursday, and hope I create something that I am proud of, and that others like. =) Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for your comments guys, as disappointed as I am.. I prepared for this rejection, so I'm just eager for Thursday to come. =) It helps to know you guys are behind my design. Thank you. =D

I don't think I'm getting it either, as i don't understand how this is off topic but mother goose is on topic? Its a nice design though i dont know how well it would print on the brown.

What in the blue HELL? How on EARTH did this get rejected? Obviously the mod that rejected it is blind and didn't see the clear face and theme going on here.

Disgusting. I was very skeptical about any "corruption" or whatnot before, but this clear double-standard really makes me rethink that.

Number of shirt.woots in 08: 23 (not counting randoms and shirts bought for friends)
number of shirt.woots in 09: 2 (same criteria)

Yeah.. I actually tried to make a new shirt after my (very fair) resubmission rejection. I thought creating another Mother Nature shirt would make Woot happy; you know, taking the original rejection and turning something good around with it..like Cho's "Why can't I fly friend?" Lemons..lemonade. I guess Woot doesn't see it that way. Also, Seattlejo pointed out that the Mother Goose shirt is clearly on-topic.. so why isn't this? That kind of inconsistency kills me. I guess we'll never know. No point getting upset about it, though. Thanks for your comments. =)

I think, if I can try and imagine what their reasons for rejection were, that the design doesn't seem to clearly say "Hey, this is Mother Nature on a shirt" the way the lady on the goose is clearly Mother Goose. It's really nitpicky of them, though. I guess if you added a planet somewhere it would clearly be "Mother Earth" or if you had, maybe, her doing some mothering actions (feeding a deer with a bottle) then it might pass the rejectionator.

I personally think it was fine the way it was, but I guess I'm not as picky as Woot.
