Thanks a bunch for mjc and littlejetties for the title - and the others who suggested ones as well. They are strictly communist revolutionaries because of the style - they are more easily recognizable this way - than it would've been if i had stuck someone from the 1700's in there. While I am disappointed this isn't called "The Ukraine is Weak" I do like that you put the reference in the description. Very well done as always. If this wins, I know exactly who to buy it for.

The annoying part is that he ends up getting probation every derby. I'm a little annoyed that the woot moderators haven't gotten around to it yet. The competition is close enough without the added obstacle of someone throwing my name around while being a jerk.

llo, got my vote. My favorite par is how sleepy and disappointed Che looks. I also like the attention to detail, like with the wood grain of the tabletop.

I really enjoy this piece james. its really well excited and the Idea is really clever. My favorite character has to be marx. his expression is awesome and his beard is really nicely handled. I like seeing this level of work, it shows a lot of planning and skill. If there was anything I would critique it would have to be the hands. a couple of them look a little small proportionally and Marx has six fingers, unless he is pointing with his thumb. it just seems a little wonky :/

Eh, no offense, but I really hope he doesn't just get a spot in the dailies, it's nice having him entering the derbies each week because it raises the bar for the rest of the entrants, and forces James to keep improving himself. Competition is great.

That being said, I would also love this shirt...except I have too much olive...but this shirt is awesome, James. Sometimes I kind of feel that your stuff shoots up because you're you, but then my stupid subsides (unlike that of SOME people around here).

You have an amazing ability to interpret derbies to shirts that people would wear. I adore this design. Thanks for the great, weekly work.

That may be true, but If Cho keeps producing ideas of this quality with this level of execution, he should be in pretty good shape.

why doesnt woot just hire Cho to design shirts, since obviously he is good at it since they are always in the fog, and then the rest of us can have a chance at one of those spaces.

I like the art and the concept, but I just can't wear 5 Communist leaders on a shirt. Maybe if it had featured leadres throughout history. I was a little paranoid about including Communist Revolutions in my multiple revolution shirt...

My first draft had Soviet and Chinese revolutions leading to the final part, and I thought, man somebodie's gonna think I'm pro Communism, so I didn't include the Cuban Revolution. I already got one funny look when someone caught me designing the hammer and sicle for my shirt. But that's just me and my paranoia.
The Revolution will be...complicated

I really hope some of these comments stop. I appreciate you thinking i'm good at it - but there's absolutely no reason to suggest what woot should do - and more importantly, discouraging, and condescending the growing number of very talented people that enter in the contest. Please stop posting stuff like this in my thread. I'm very sorry for the people who have to read BS such as this. Thanks.

This is only my 2nd derby and I can already tell you're one of the top heavy hitters here @ shirt.woot. Just my honest opinion but I didn't think much of the shirt you made in the last derby (A,B,Cs) but this one is hilarious. Great take on the theme.

I guess now I just have to crank out the designs faster to get them on the board as soon as the derby starts (that and getting the hang of faster illustrator output).

I'll see you up in the fog sooner or later, that's a promise!

Sir, your attitude is poor. Other members are pointing out that you are good enough to be a "regular contributer" that would be a regular job. Apparently your delicate artist sensibilities are offended. "Thank you" would be more appropriate here. I vote for your submissions but I think that I might have to sit this week out.

I'm not trying to take anyone's side here, just want to point out that Jame's popularity has led to small but vocal contingent of wooters who occasionally clutter up his shirt's threads with jealousy-driven critiques along the lines of 'cho wins too much, woot should put a cap on number of times a person can win'. I agree with you that this particular instance was probably not the case, but i'm willing to give cho a bit of leeway, as all similar sounding comments can start blur together after a while, even if they are meant differently. ;-)

In any case, I'm not trying to be meddlesome, just trying to er... 'shed light' on probable intentions.

Cho is a double edged sword.

The good? I can always count on a T shirt to buy if the derby has interesting rules.
The bad? Theres no way I can submit a piece of artwork that can rival him.

I agree something should be done, since the description of the derby is
"for people without extensive experience, who want to get their shirts into the public".

i agree this is much to similar to the threadless design. also, marx never overthrew a govt like the other players in this vignette did, so he seems out of place especially since most communists regimes don't even prescribe to true marxist ideals.

the perspective seems messed up on the right side of the table with the game pieces between the korean's arms... and marx's hand looks silly. the amount of detail is cool, but the overall execution could have benefitted from additional planning.

I can always depend on you for one hell of an art job, but rarely a shirt design. I really like this one a lot, but as stated by quite a few people I dunno if I could wear it. Great job though!

On a side note, how has no one mentioned how hillarious Kim Jong is, he is my favorite part!

This will probably sound weird and who knows if I am explaining this right, but I tried voting for this design, and I have been able to successfully vote for several other designs (this derby and several others), but when I hit I want one, all of a sudden it says +-1 next to "take it back" instead of just +1 as it has appeared previous time I voted for designs. And then instead of the new vote count with my 1 added it says +-1/5th [place]. It is very weird. It doesn't seem to be accepting my vote (the I want once tab reappeared a couple of times and the same thing happened when I tried. Is anyone else having this weird glitch?

I was able to take back a vote for a design that pushed a design I preferred out of the fog (I liked the design and would get it, but would rather get a different shirt).

I wonder why woot is all messed up today and yesterday. I have never experienced these problems before. Especially as the race appears to be very close among the top 5 shirts.
