Fabulous. I just got done studying the heart in my gross anatomy class so this really hits home. Nice job!

I like the idea, but do you think people just looking at the shirt will get it without the "Circuit-ulatory" word on it? Since we are allowed minimal text this week, think Woot will allow enough for you to put the shirt title ON the shirt? GMV in any case

(IMO) I think people can appreciate the graphic without knowing the word being implemented.

Hee! Did you get one of the Anatomy Test tees when they were available? (I think they got reckoned out, but I could be wrong...) My Anatomy prof *loved* it when I wore it. :-)

Very clever. I especially enjoy that the precise positioning of the heart.

This one is just itching to break into the top 4, I know it. I think we'll see a turn around by the end of the week.

Love it... clean crisp design and can be used to help teach fifth grade science. You need to think outside of the box (like this shirt) to keep a classroom of 11 year olds engaged.

Who designed this one? What derby was it in?

I think it was by SeedUvPain (which is why he's bringing it up). It was in the Home derby.

I think the designs are different, but it's right on the cusp of rejection territory. The biggest similarity is the use of a heart, but I don't think that's extremely original. I think that architectural blueprints aren't the same as circuit diagrams...

Speaking of which, exactly what kind of diagram is this? I recognize it but I can't remember exactly... it reminds me of logic circuit diagrams, but simplified.

(Unofficial) Derby Rules (outdated?)
Designing for the Derby (definitely outdated)
Tips for New Designers (always useful)

Aw cmon, the same shirt? Take away the colors and placement and nobody would have said anything, not to mention they are totally different styles, influences, and ideas in general. This entry has a blueprint feel with a very calculated look to it. It focuses on the specific anatomy of the heart juxtaposed over a house. My design consists of a heart that is part of the larger system, and has much more of a free flowing feel to it rather than a more anatomy-oriented diagram of a heart with a blueprint of a house. The titles exemplify this point as my design is playing on the entire circulatory system, with circuits replacing veins and arteries which seems to give a, for lack of a better word, cyborg feel, whereas the other shirt was playing on the "home is where the heart is" saying, I'm assuming. And to be fair, the placement of the heart is understandably similar, I wasn't going to put it in the bottom right corner was I? I would assume using a heart with a vastly different idea and theme wouldn't be grounds for rejection, and I really hope woot wouldn't consider rejecting my design on this basis. Regardless, thanks again for those who like this shirt, and please keep the votes coming. I can't tell you what it means to me, or any designer, to know others enjoy and appreciate their ideas.

I agree - without the mostly white ink on blue shirt; the design of simplified, straight lines representing a complex system that travels the width of the shirt before connecting to realistically shaped and proportioned heart and continuing down the right side of the shirt, they're completely different.

I think the more appropriate question is: did WeezTheJuice see Derby #47 (Home)? It was only four weeks ago, and SeedUvPain's shirt placed well if I recall correctly:

I really can't argue my point any further as it is a lost cause. All I can say is that I had no intention of making my shirt anything like any other prior submission, and I am sorry if the designer of that shirt feels that I stole their ideas, because I didn't. I didn't look at that design for inspiration or ideas at all while thinking of or making this design. Heck, most of my submissions come from designs that I sketch from a notepad at my desk job. I'm sure if you feel cheated, there's no way I'm going to change your mind from anything that I say, so all I can do is leave it at that. Thanks again to all that have voted, you have sure made this an interesting week.

I can see how these two designs are different. What I don't understand is how this shirt fits the theme. Energy?

Re: Circuit-ulatory System

I was thinking this one looked identical to the heart blueprint design and was just a recycled idea submitted by the same person until seed spoke up. Seed's blueprint heart shirt executed a better idea in an artistically better way.

I think the heart fits a lot better with the concept of a circuit than a blueprint. I would totally buy this shirt, hands down.

Isnt the artwork too close to the collar of the shirt? It does not look like there is the 1" gap needed.

I need to have a shirt to wear to EE classes, this had better win over one of those artsy-fartsy ones.
