Re: Cofee Levels Critical
Great concept. I like the small coffee level/energy meter. I could see a lot of people I know wearing this shirt.

Very nice design and well implemented. Though I would much rather see a larger print in the center of the shirt.
mrwednesday wrote:Very nice design and well implemented. Though I would much rather see a larger print in the center of the shirt.
I would disagree. I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a big coffee cup on my chest, I like it the way it is. Energy icons are usually small and off to the side. I think it works with the concept better like this.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
If the coffee level is low shouldnt it be red instead of green.
2005vette wrote:If the coffee level is low shouldnt it be red instead of green.
I thought about that, but I was set on using the brown shirt, and I felt the green looked better against the brown than red.
Thanks for the words, guys.

Then, IMO, you should make it all green, as in FULL of energy.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
An accurate meter for me most days.
Love it.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I agree, green looks better. I also like it in the corner and now in the center, there are too many "busy" shirts on woot, it's nice to see something simple, but gets the point across. Good luck!
Its already been said, but very good with making the icon small and off-to-the-side. Quite appropriate.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
At first I didn't like the size and placement of the coffee cup, but after thinking about it, I agree with the other posters who liked it small and where it is. However, even though most meters show levels in green, yellow and/or red, I would like the level to be brown for coffee and the shirt another color. I like it, though.
I Like it! Great Job!
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
It's hot! I'd buy it right now.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I love the design, I HATE the positioning on the shirt. This would have been my vote if it hadn't been for the fact that the design is on the pocket like some male work polo or something.
ubetteryoubet wrote:I love the design, I HATE the positioning on the shirt. This would have been my vote if it hadn't been for the fact that the design is on the pocket like some male work polo or something.
Fair enough. I chose the size and position for two reasons. One, the design itself isn't exactly deserving of a big front 'n center print. It's more of an infographic than a work of art. Two, battery level icons are traditionally in the corner of a device's display. The positioning here mimics that.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
AMAZING! It makes me need more coffee NOW!
needs to be a larger print on the shirt and i would vote for it.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
ah I love the size and placement! Some graphics does look good big and centered, but I think this is perfect where it is. Plus I'm a little tire of the huge graphics >_< GMV!

I'm all for you making a TON more money.
... that said... i also want you to win... cuz i want one now.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I. Want. It. Now.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I like the placement... it's over the heart, which isn't technically the energy center for your body but it certainly keeps us going.
I would have voted for this had the logo been larger, and had the green taken up more bars. Green at low level doesn't make sense, even though you're doing it for aesthetic reasons.
You're right it doesn't need to be front and center, but it just doesn't work for me as a polo.
Which is too bad, because the concept is really clever and I really like the idea.
vvildcard wrote:I like the placement... it's over the heart, which isn't technically the energy center for your body but it certainly keeps us going.
Heheh... if you drink a lot of coffee then that will get your heart going. Caffeine can mimic the effects of epinephrine on the heart.
And... like... bend space and time... :-)
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I really like the placement of the mug on this shirt, but it looks like it might be a bit too small :/

Futurama episode? Where Fry drinks the 100 cups of coffee and achieves caffeine-nirvana?

I agree that you could make a lot of money off of this design w/ a company like Starbucks... But please don't! Cause I'm selfish and I want one! hehe
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I want this shirt! Everyone vote for it.
@whyst: everything has its place. Not every design is made for a centered position.
@gooddesign: ha! great idea, but then you'd have to pay $25 for the shirt
@gambit07: It should wind up being about 4 inches tall, give or take.
@eHalcyon: I like to call that the mythical "5th bar"
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
2 things...
1. Very cute.
2. I want one.

If this shirt wins, this will be the first Woot shirt I have bought myself in a while. ^^
eHalcyon wrote:Futurama episode? Where Fry drinks the 100 cups of coffee and achieves caffeine-nirvana?
Heeheh. Transcending space and time through caffeine ingestion. That Buddha guy could have saved a lot of meditation if he knew about that.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I think I'm missing the brilliance people are seeing in this shirt. I understand that it's a graphic depicting the need for coffee. I just think I'm missing something. Maybe I don't drink enough coffee.
2005vette wrote:Then, IMO, you should make it all green, as in FULL of energy.
Definitely agreed. Great concept, though.

i also agree. you've already got the starbucks green on there. but if this does win, i can see smaller coffee shops buying these for their employees.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
brilliant. plus i'm in need of a great brown shirt. AND i live for coffee.

by far its worse that no-one noticed until now. Your error is one single error by one person. The fact that all the people who've voted for and commented about the shirt dieither didn't know it was wrong, o, even worse, didn't think it was a big deal that it was wrong, is far, far worse.
I thimk.

I was starting to put together a "how DARE you" reply in my head, but you redeemed yourself handily in the last sentence.
Good show.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
so will woot just change the name when they print this...or does it have to stay misspelled?
tallmidget wrote:so will woot just change the name when they print this...or does it have to stay misspelled?
I would like to hope that Joel and the rest see this as a typo and not as an intentional action on my part.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I'm down with it being pocket-positioned and, yea, sure, small, but maybe it could be a little bigger (though considering that its in the fog...well, i guess it works).
But mos def the colour, if you were stuck on green, should have been filled (though considering that its in the fog...ya know...)

I get the "bar should be filled" comment in regards to using green vs. red, and had I thought of that, I might have gone that way, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's that people like complaining a whole lot more than they like being happy and content.
A shirt that insinuates "I need caffeine...don't bother me!" is going to be more popular than one that insinuates "I'm happy and full of energy!".
Perhaps I feel this way because I've been part of the workforce for 4 years now and I have to wake up at 7:30am every day (this is the latest I've ever been able to wake up on a weekday since college...it used to be no later than 6am)
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
I work in a coffee shop. I have to have this shirt. It embodies my philosophy of life and technology in a simple icon... awesome

I actually noticed that "Cofee" was misspelled, but I didn't think it was a big deal because it's a title. You aren't going to wear a tilte hovering over your T-shirt, and it isn't worth the lost votes to resubmit it due to a title error. I'm sure they can fix it when it goes for sale. Note the "Iceburg" issue:

...Not to mention all the grammar problems. You're probably right, but I figured I'd give my point of view. If you weren't around for the T-shirt that I referenced though, it was originally put up for sale with iceberg spelled "iceburg" and then they changed it.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
i cant vote for this. the button says "id want one" aand i want two
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
In for one (Vote that is).
Nice Job. About time we get something not centered and huge.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
nice concept but bad positioning and size... its nice but im still suprised its in the lead.
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
Great shirt, though not being a coffee drinker, will probably center around my tea drinking instead.
I like the idea + positioning, but agree with the others on the color of the bar. If its green it should be full, or it should be yellow/orange/red. If you are trying to portray "coffee level critical" then it would have to be red..
Jack31081 wrote:I thought about that, but I was set on using the brown shirt, and I felt the green looked better against the brown than red.

I always thought red and brown looked nice together. If it was an issue of visibility, with the design being as small as it is (which I completely agree with) people aren't going to really see it until they are closer up anyway. It seems like such a tiny issue, but that one color change would have made it absolute perfection. Don't get me wrong, there is a coffee-phile I am getting this for as soon as it is available, but why write on the internet if not to complain...right?
Re: Cofee Levels Critical
This is the winner fo sho. Cool shirt bro, spelling aside : D

My thoughts exactly. Not into the brown shirts.

I was thinking a black shirt with the red instead of the green or a white shirt with the green would also be cool. Great shirt though.
