Thanks Andy! You beat me to it the post.

Here's my design of a kitten in trouble. The little guy got stuck while attempting to catch the little red bird. Now the branch is breaking and a big lazy sleeping dog lies below. He needs "HALP!"

Thanks! Thanks to RGLee for his comment too. (Welcome back!)

It's been awhile since I did a derby design in the folk arty style, so I thought it worked well for this theme. Thanks for your votes!

I love the red sun...I think it adds interest to the design as a whole. I also like the Dr. Seuss like trees (at least that is kind of what they remind me of).

Hope you make it to the fog!

I'm always a fan of reworking trees and doing them in new and interesting ways. I really like the techniques you used on this piece. It's almost Seussian.

Thanks Wonderbunny for your help before the derby started. You and several other wooters were very helpful in offering advice about placement, text, etc. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to see this one getting a few votes too. Thought it might be fun to offer up something a little different.

THanks Raikus and Wonderbunny for the Seuss comment. That's a nice compliment!

Very interesting trees. They make me think of watermelon-lollipop-one eyed monster-venus flytrap-alien things.

so many blending options on that shirt composition :P

anyway, did you try an all-red shirt color? that red spot does no justice for the color!

Thanks for the suggestion Disco. I will definitely take a look at how this looked on red. Right now, I need the green of the shirt as one of my 'colors'. But, maybe adding a green ink and letting the red be the shirt color might work too!

Here's why I included the red circle: I felt the cat and the breaking branch were small relative to the design, so I thought the red circle sun would draw the viewer's eye upward and make you focus on the cat that's in trouble. With green and red being complementary colors, I kind of liked the contrast of the two. I wanted the circle of the sun to play into the circle of the tree sections and be large enough to just touch all the tree parts.

It just seemed right to me, but I know that some folks are finding it a tad distracting.

I'll play around with the design on red and then find something else to do with the design 60 days from now.

Thanks again for the suggestion. I'll play around with the red and see what it looks like.
