What does Lincoln have to do with oil dependency?

All I can come up with is that the Lincoln Village Apts are in Carbondale, IL.
Or another take-off on the crying Indian.

ah, I was going for the whole 'great historic American leader disappointed by the choices we've made' thing. All evidence says it didn't work. I like the way it looks, anyway.
edit: and the tears were just because I wanted to see if I could make them look like tears. That worked somewhat, I think.

I like it... and Lincoln is a figurehead for America, so I see it as a good design choice. I like the colors and I'd definitely wear it.

As far as technically, I really like it. I just don't, personally, like the concept. I always enjoy your entries though. Just wondering out loud.
Keep fighting the good fight good sir.![]()

It looks like you put a ton of work into this. I know it a bummer that it isn't rocketing into the fog, but at least you designed for yourself and not to try and please a group of people with no business critiquing. (That's coming from an guy majoring in Art, though).
Good work.

Thanks, Jon and the others who appreciated it. It was a lot of work, but I think it turned out really well. I am really pleased by the way Lincoln's face turned out, and the sky coloring., especially. You know, when there's a lot of particles in the air, you get these really dramatic reddish sunsets. Must have been spectacular when the dinosaurs got blasted. Oh and after the Burgess Shale extinction event too.

My first take on this was the symbolic freedom from slavery - our oil dependency. Honestly didn't see the tears till they were mentioned, but a nice subtle touch. I love the style & the way the colors contrast also. Was wondering if Lincoln wasn't out front, maybe the carbon message would come across a little more. He's pretty prominent where he is. Really like the shirt - GMV. :o)
