Iodine is famous in an experiment where Nitrogen Triiodide is lightly rubbed with a feather. Any amount of friction causes the substance to explode violently in ghostly purple plumes. Hence the purpleishness of this design.

Kinda like the design, but the placement? Bottom left? I don't see how that would work well. Also, some sort of text explaining the concept would help.

I LIKE the placement. I'm a sucker for non-centered designs. Also I love elements that burn strange colors... purple, green, bright red. It's a great idea, the only qualm I have is the super horizontal bit of fume coming from the big ghost's mouth... I think I'd like to see it more spiraling upward.

Nitrogen Triiodide != single element.
