Mechanical Aptitude Test:

If the inside cog in the upper-left is turning clockwise, the bottom cog is turning in which direction?

Counter clockwise? This would be so much better on something not cream. I like the design a lot, otherwise.

I think clockwise.

Re: Grind My Gears

I think ccw. The only part I'm not sure about is which direction the inner cog would spin the outer one. I'm thinking that if the inner cog is turning clockwise, the outer one would do the same, so the cog at the end should be going the other way.

Machanical Aptitude Test:

So far two of you are right... ;-)

Not my favorite shirt color either, but with the various gears in different shades of grey and black, details were lost on *most* of the shirt colors. After trying them all out, I had to decide on cream, light blue, or bright green as those were the three colors that allowed the most contrast for each of the gears in this design. Maybe if the shoe fits, a different gear design might make its way into a future derby with either darker or lighter gears only to let me choose a shirt color more to my (and apparently your) liking...

its ccw. since the gear is inside the other gear, the outer gear has to move in the same direction. after that you just switch rotation for each gear that touches another, and you come up with the last one. decent shirt, though cream is a little iffy.

Thank you twyphoon for you explanation. I just switched every other... and I'd be wrong. taipan- you were being tricky saying two of us were right.
