I have a turtle mosaic stepping stone that I made. It's in my garden, and strangely...it looks a lot like this ... although a tad more dusty.

I think it looks great on the shirt. A different kind of ShekTek design this week, but I really like it.

Thanks! I love Hawaii. One of my favorite places on Earth. Wish we'd see more native wildlife in people's designs, but I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner (start of second week of class, and things are hairy).

I like the mosaic effect as well. The very soothing color scheme goes well with this.

If you need any sort of inspiration about nature, just look up honeycreepers (iiwi, apapane, amakihi) or ohia-lehua. Outstanding diversity. And if you go above ~1500 feet, no mosquitoes!

very cool skek! glad I checked the derby page and saw it in the hotness. The mosaic gives it a really unique feel, very different from the other designs this week and from your other designs. Plus it's nice to see a design from someone who has actually been to hawaii! ;)

Thanks mia! I really like it, though it seems to have peaked at around 10th... hopefully it'll make one more surge.

Woot doesn't have this shirt color, do they? For some reason some of the shirt comps that use kelly green come out with more of a green-blue. Going Bananas and Say No To Scurvy are actually the same color, but their shirt comp images look quite different. It's kelly green from the comp document most folks use. They updated the comps since those shirts came out when woot revised their revised templates. If you look, many other shirt 600px templates have this same color. It very closely matches the woot shirt I own that's kelly. I think what program the person uses affects the comp- I use photoshop but if you use something like GIMP it might give a different hue since you have to convert the PSD to a JPEG for submittal.

Wow Shek! What a total in just one day. Amazing and really nice to see that late designs can still be contenders. Another reason why the hotness exposure is SO valuable!

I know turtles are seen in a lot of woot designs, but for this theme, it seemed perfectly relevant.

This would make a great print too if you design to do something for a wall, etc.

Just for noisdois - Woot updated the template colours sometime ago. Scurvy started long before that happened, so that comp looks different.

Skek - the kelly shirt I just got more closely matches the updated colour. And WOW, congratulations on soaring to the top ten!
