I think the long term benefits of getting this many scared food items out of the way would be a major plus. Imagine next time someone posts YET ANOTHER scared food shirt, you can just point to this shirt and say it's been done. Maybe it'll get rejected. Maybe the person thinking about voting for it'll say, eh I've already got a shirt with a scared fried egg on it. Pass. Heck, maybe woot themselves will get the point and say enough with the scared food people, at least for a while.

One of three things. Either it's about to be consumed, it's about to be processed into some kind of secondary food, or it watched one of those things happen to a friend. You can apply the formula to any of the above food items and it's fun for hours.

hey now TG... panic + food = good! I know it is one of those themes that gets beat to death but it is a heck of a lot better than friggin koi and trees (although that embarassed tree autumn one was good). Actually truth be told wacky anthropomorphism is just cool period. I will take food, chairs, animals, whatever you have if it is funny. Maybe someone should make a shirt that has humanized shirts on it! oh, gmv

Some of these foodstuffs look constipated, rather than panicked (see: pickle on the right-hand side) but still, fairly hilarious.

This shirt is hilarious! I love it and would totally wear it. I think you covered almost all the foods so it would be nice to see people stretch their imaginations beyond scared food for once in the future. Hopefully this shirt will help.

While I can appreciate the sentiment, I haven't seen a moratorium on bird-and-tree yet. Hell, they just recently HM'd a winter scene in a fall derby of a bird on a tree with the twin towers in the background. Which is ludicrous enough, all in all, to make me rather confident that woot wants more scared food.

On the plus, this is far more wearable than the one that IS in the fog

I think the difference between "food panicking as it is eaten or otherwise readied for consumption" and "koi and trees" is specifics. In the fall derby, for example, we had "Autumn = Embarrassment" and rglee's Tree Toupee, which both took on the same tree quality in very different ways. We also saw Summer Leads to FA.IL, which had a tree as a central design element, but used it as only a part of a larger concept. It's an overused element, but it's one that can be made fresh with new concepts. No matter what food is panicking, however, it's still going to be pretty much the same joke. And like the donuts, it goes stale fast.

Sometimes there's a thin line between biting (so to speak) satire and tasteless (so to speak) pandering. But this is pretty clear satire. Oddly enough, I bet it's gotten a lot of sincere votes because it really is kind of fun. Nice work in spite of yourself, tgentry!
