Re: One Too Many Apples
Great one, Boots!
A super design, and nutritional information as well !
Re: One Too Many Apples
This makes me hungry... is it lunch yet?
GMV! Way to go with a true american legend!
Re: One Too Many Apples
i heart all that you do here. it's ridiculous.
Re: One Too Many Apples
yumac: I went with the pot! I know when I'm wrong
Jestik: Yes. It's very informative, although the information was compiled from a bunch of internet sources. All different and all probably slightly wrong. (and thanks!)
lkackman: I think it IS lunchtime!
Irrelevant: Aww shucks, all I do hearts you too. ![]()
Re: One Too Many Apples
the red apples were definitely the way to go, boots. Awesome job.
Re: One Too Many Apples
Yey boots! You went red! Definitely lets it 'pop'.
Re: One Too Many Apples
Good job on this one, but I'm still not sure about the text for this week. Is it OK or not?
Re: One Too Many Apples
Very clever and nicely done boots! ![]()
Re: One Too Many Apples
Great shirt Boots! And congrats on fogging ![]()
Re: One Too Many Apples
Thanks for the comments, guys!
I think the text is ok, right? No one said there COULDN'T be text. I'll take this to court if I have to!
And thanks AnnaJo. I always find my way into the fog, I just can't stay there. ![]()
Re: One Too Many Apples
Great shirt. The colors are amazing.
Re: One Too Many Apples
Clever and beautifully executed Ms. Boots!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Hey Boots,
I love your design.
Check out my updated Unicorn....As per your request...!!!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Your colours are always wonderful, Boots. Although, I prefer green apples, I shall vote for your red ones - since I won't be eating them and all. Kudos!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Thanks to my vote, you just fogged. Congrats!
Nicely done as usual! Clever!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Boooooooo!!!! The one with Atlas passed you....... and it's not nearly as good!!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Great concept Boots.
Re: One Too Many Apples
Very nice. Unfortunately, it doesn't creep me out like you other work. GMV though, great concept.

Just picture Johnny's body under the ground rotting and clutching an apple lovingly. ![]()

ahuhu! I thank you for your passion. Really!
And thank you everyone for the votes and comments.

This comment alone gets my vote!

Your artwork is great as usual too! :D

Re: One Too Many Apples
Great theme! I had totally forgotten about little Johnny Appleseed.
Re: One Too Many Apples
Love it 2Xboots! This reminds me when I did a book report on him in 3rd grade and had to dress up and wore a pot on my head.
Ha, that's what you get fool for only eating an apple a day.
another shirt with too many words, too little sense.
byrbwr wrote:another shirt with too many words, too little sense.
Your MOM doesn't make sense.
(Hoo!)
Re: One Too Many Apples
The artwork is great (as always.) I really like the lines in the tree (leaves, trunk, everything.) I have never seen anything as beautiful as a BootsBoots Tree.
Not sure if i dig the whole concept as a shirt, so that means its GREAT. But if you want to draw another entry, I give you the okay to do "Boudreaux le Magnifique." I was going to do it, but it seemed self serving and the Kappa tired me out.
[quote postid="2937082" user="BootsBoots"]this post was suupposed to go somewhere else. i don't know how it got here so it;s gone now...
Re: One Too Many Apples
I really love this one, Boots! My Internet has been out for a while - been having withdrawal!! Borrowed my husband's Broadband card, and had to make a quick pitstop here to see what's going on.
Love this one, especially the colors, and GMV, but... do apples REALLY have 3Grams of fat each??
Re: One Too Many Apples
we need to get this back in the fog...
Re: One Too Many Apples
I love apples too much to vote for this, I will go on pretending they are the healthiest dang thing in the world. :P The pot is cute. ;)
nice you never let us down with your BA designs
Re: One Too Many Apples
I'm surprised Adder hasn't sucked up to you yet... how odd

I'm not sure about the fat content, actually. I looked up the nutritional value of apples and different sources said different values. The highest was 5g the lowest was .5 or something. So go ahead and feel good about your apples. My sources are not perfect!
garot wrote:I'm surprised Adder hasn't sucked up to you yet... how odd
I wish Adder would suck up to me. I can only assume that he thinks that I don't have anything of value to give him, but he is WRONG. I have a f-ton of old Garbage Pail Kids cards.
Re: One Too Many Apples
I like that the palette resonates with the shirt color. Great design, too. GMV
garot wrote:I'm surprised Adder hasn't sucked up to you yet... how odd
I'm surprised you think there's something about this shirt I'd like enough to suck up.

Re: One Too Many Apples
Glad you went with the red apples...they provide a nice pop to your design. Nicely done, and glad to see artists doing their research!

You never heard of Apple Bottoms jeans???
Sorry, couldn't resist...
Re: One Too Many Apples
This is the one legend I haven't heard of... what's wrong with me??? ahuhu
This is one of the most clever shirts I've ever seen - definitely GMV!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Great concept and hilarious design.
Re: One Too Many Apples
I knew I'd be safe from the drama here!
Great work as always (although, I was hoping for that rainbow bodily functions one you mentioned, huhu).
GMV

i was quite sure that "rainbow bodily functions" was a new word filter and only clicked on reply to see what it stood for...
peppersagooddog wrote:i was quite sure that "rainbow bodily functions" was a new word filter and only clicked on reply to see what it stood for...
Huhu...no it was a sketch that boots joked with....someone....about.
ahuhu....that does sound like a filter.
Re: One Too Many Apples
love the design. i've got johnny appleseed featured as a part of my own design this week. great job, as always!
marypuppe wrote:I knew I'd be safe from the drama here!

Dammit, Mary! Why didn't you remind me about that one? I totally didn't think about it. Some BFF!
And I don't know about the lack of drama. I was about to insult Adder's grandma. Things certainly would have gone south shortly after that.
Re: One Too Many Apples
This is a nice design, BUT...
Johnny Appleseed was a real guy (John Chapman). Yeah, he didn't walk around strewing apple seeds - he planted nurseries, but that doesn't make him a legend. This is a legend only if you think George Washington saying I cannot tell a lie makes Washington a legend.

I was worried that the legend was based on a real guy too. My argument is that the legend is separate from the real man. There's John the nursery farmer and Johnny the guy with the pot walking across America planting apple trees one by one. Enh. If this design were to get rejected I wouldn't cry too hard about it ![]()
Re: One Too Many Apples
looks great boots!
plus this shirt convinced me to give up fruit!
Re: One Too Many Apples
Booots, I love your linework so much. You have such a distinct style. It's like a little treat when I look through all the thumbnails and catch yours waiting there.
Very clever and well executed. <3

Sorry!!! I figured you were too excited about your Johnny Appleseed or you thought it would be too similar to the Threadless shirt with the Clown puke (which, incidentally was my intro to the world of online shirts, though I didn't know it at the time)
Re: One Too Many Apples
As usual creative and well done, so win one already!
Ah, Boots. Where do you come up with this stuff? I'm always impressed with your concepts.
Re: One Too Many Apples
This shirt would go great with this one:-)

have to say I love the Johnny Appleseed shirt. Leominster MA has claimed him as a hometown here, which was close to where I grew up. So I was thrilled when I saw this shirt. If it doesn't get back into the fog, I really hope you have it printed somewhere else.
