Re: Deep Sea Creatures

The deep sea has some fascinating animals... the idea was to have a t-shirt where you just really see the eyes at first and then later see the creatures.

Cool.... I was going for that effect. Though a friend still called the creatures 'cute'. Creepy-cute.

Nice shirt...
The effect I see is that if someone looked at it from 20 feet away they would see a different shirt than if they looked at it from up close. Neat effect!

Thanks! I thought that might kind of cool. Though from the votes, maybe there aren't too many others that do, or maybe haven't noticed!

thanks to brother dude...I see that now. I admit that i had even commented to him that I didn't think much of this shirt. I did not have the scenario of far away and then close up in mind. If worn this would work out as described so now I can recant and tell you good job as well.

Your compatriot did have a similar submission and as I stated on his design, they go different directions from there. your use of the yellow highlights is your key.

Much thanks to databit for pointing that out then... I did say it in my description, but maybe it wasn't clear. I actually was really happy with the way it came out, but votes have been lacking, so maybe most people aren't realizing that aspect of the shirt if they don't take a close enough look. Or they just don't like it.

Which similar submission are you talking about? I couldn't find the comment you are referring to.

Thanks for the recant and good job!

edit: I am really struggling with figuring out the formatting on these posts! I just used the same format I used before and the pic isn't posting... er... sorry.

Pics appear sporratic today. Using BBCODE you can post pictures and links, but if you want there to be something at the bottom of each of your posts like the 3 or 4 spamming you on mine, then you want to alter your signature which can be found at the bottom of the "My Account" settings (look at the top of this page just below Welcome jasneko).

To put a picture in your signature that links back to the submission, you have to nest URL and IMG BBCODEs. You will also need a thumnail picture of the entry hosted somewhere. Use this format, but replace the squigly brackets ({}) with square brackets ([]):{url=http://somesuchpath.to/your/submission}{img}http://somesuchpath.to/your/thumbnail.jpg{/img}{/url}
Your thumnail should not be more than 100 pixels tall, preferably 100x100. You can use {img=100x100} instead of just {img} to force it to size, but it may look squished if that is not the natural resolution.

One more tip... Do not make duplicate posts.. it annoys people...

Databit - Thanks so much for the information! I was wondering how you did that. If I want multiple thumbnails side by side like that, do I put anything in between each url/img in the bbc code?

Aw, I like this idea! The combination of the dark and bright is great and definitely caught my attention. Plus, deep sea creatures are fascinating. Nice work!

Although, the Anglerfish should have a bright spot on the light attached to his head. Just noticed that. :D

And you're right about the anglerfish...I had meant to add a bright spot there, and forgot. Wish there was a way to resubmit a picture with a very tiny fix. D'oh. Glad you like it anyway though!

Thanks much! I hope it gets printed too, but I doubt it at this point. I think many people are missing the near and far aspect of the shirt... :/ Or something else I guess.
Here's hoping!
