I don't feel the steampunk in this design. It looks like you added one gear and expected that to make it steampunk.

That's an interesting assumption, but I have to disagree completely.. besides the obvious Victorian DJ, the materials (dark woods, bronze, exposed wires, etc) are all reminiscent of steampunk design, not to mention the phonograph and the whole rig in general...
The gears for the player were an afterthought if anything. I'm surprised it's the only thing you noticed.

The steampunk theme is pretty clear here, but I think it could use just a little bit more detail.. more shadows and small details.
Looks pretty good though! =D
